STUDENTS DROP OUT: A DISCLAIMER

The Management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai wishes to debunk a video clip going viral to the effect that the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu was seen saying a total of four to five thousand students of the University are dropping out because of financial problems.

We hereby state that the video clip was wrongly recorded and made public and intended to cause mischief.

There was no professional representation in the recording to warrant public attention.

It was not an interview as claimed, but during an impromptu visit to the University Management by Director General, Student Affairs, Comrade Bello Barau Sheriff and his team to submit a letter on student Nelfund loan.

Parents and the general public are therefore, advised to disregard the video clip going round as the Visitor/His Excellency, Farmer Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago's led administration in Niger State is very passionate and making commendable efforts to address the issue of scholarships.

Accordingly, parents are enjoined to remain calm and watch over their wards as they pursue there academic activities.

It is with total submission to will of the Almighty Allah that the
Senate, Management Staff and Students of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai announce the death of Professor Nuhu Ango Aliyu.

A professor of Business Administration in the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, Professor Nuhu Ango was hard working academic staff that contributed to the growth of the University in an immeasurable way.

He was the Director of Institute of Continuing Education and e-learning (ICeL).

May Allah be pleased with his soul and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

CLOSURE OF REGISTRATION PORTAL FOR 2023/2024 ACADEMIC SESSION

This is to inform all undergraduates, especially parents, guardians and the general public that the Management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai at its 2nd Executive Committee meeting held on Tuesday,19th March, 2024 has directed the closure of undergraduate students registration portal for 2023/2024 academic session by midnight of Sunday, 31st March, 2024.

Consequently, all Returning and Newly admitted students are advised by this notice to ensure payments of their registration fees on or before Sunday, 31st March, 2024.

Students are further reminded that non-compliance to this notice means NO EXAMINATION. It also means FORFEITURE OF ADMISSION, in the case of newly admitted.

CALL FOR HELP.

A young undergraduate student in her 300level decided to help her parents by working during her semester break period during December - January, in order to provide some needs for herself while resuming school.

She got a job with a small pay as a POS attendant. Unfortunately, she was scammed of 150,000naira and was asked to refund. Her parents are struggling to pay during this critical time.

The major problem is, her school fee which is about #50,000 is due and need to be paid urgently, in order for her not to drop out.

RE-VERIFICATION EXERCISE ACROSS CYBERCAFÈS: A DISCLAIMER

The attention of the University Management has been drawn to the wicked and unpatriotic attitude of some cybercafè operators who take the undue advantage of candidates, especially freshers, in the name of re-verification of results.

It is embarrassing that cafes are charging in the name of the University, and above the official fees.

The public is assured that the Management has instituted a task force in conjunction with the relevant security agencies to immediately track those engage in the sharp practice.

Those involve in such act are advised in their own interest to desist from doing so or face appropriate disciplinary action.
