WHAT EXACTLY WAS THE PURPOSE OF THIS NBA CONFERENCE?

The purpose of the NBA conference in Port Harcourt this morning was supposed to be finding solutions to the threats and insecurity happening in Nigeria.

But from everything I watched, it seemed like that was not really what they wanted to focus on.

They kept arguing about things like, “He should address the people properly,” “He should address the military properly,” “He should do this,” “He should do that.”

But honestly, what exactly were we doing there?

The whole point was supposed to be finding solutions to the insecurity Nigerians are facing.

And let me say something.

If not for VDM being invited as a panelist, how many Nigerians would have even been paying attention to today's NBA conference?

Let's be honest. We know the NBA has existed for years, but how many ordinary Nigerians actually follow their conferences or care enough to watch them?

VDM's invitation was one of the reasons many Nigerians became interested in what was happening at the conference.

So they should even appreciate the fact that Nigerians were watching.

Because whether they like it or not, inviting VDM brought the NBA conference closer to ordinary Nigerians who ordinarily may not have bothered to watch it.

And now that Nigerians were watching, instead of focusing on who should address whom properly, who should say what, or who deserved to respond to whom, why didn't we concentrate on the actual problem?

Nigeria's insecurity.

People are being killed.

People are being kidnapped.

People are living in fear.

So what were the solutions?

That was what Nigerians wanted to hear.

Not another opportunity to argue over who spoke properly.

If the purpose of the conference was truly to find solutions, then the solutions should have been the focus.

Nigerians watched.

I hope the next conversation will be more about solutions and less about arguments.
