Subtitle: Introducing The Kingdom (Part 3)
In our previous episode, we began to discuss the essentials of the kingdom in relation to how we live and what we expect to see and live by in the kingdom. We still continue with these essentials as we round it off in this episode.
A Code of Ethics defines the expected behaviour of citizens within the kingdom and how they represent it. This code encompasses moral principles, social interactions, personal behaviour, attitudes, attire, and lifestyle choices.
The Army serves as the kingdom's means of safeguarding its territory and its citizens. It is crucial to recognize that, in a kingdom, citizen benefit from military’s protection. This is why, in the Kingdom of God, angels are referred to as the host of heaven. The term "host" signifies army, identifying the angels as the military aspect of the Kingdom of heaven. This concept challenges our conventional view of the Church as a military force. He unleashed His fierce anger, wrath, indignation, and hostility—a group of destroying angels (Ps. 78:49-50; Ps. 103:20-21; Matt. 13:40b-42).
A Commonwealth refers to the economic system of a kingdom that ensures all citizens have equal access to financial stability. The term "commonwealth" is used because the king desires for all his citizens to share in and benefit from the kingdom's riches. The true glory of the kingdom lies in the well-being and happiness of its citizens. Jesus reassured His disciples, saying, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing” (Luke 12:22-24). He encouraged them to seek His kingdom, promising that these needs would be met. “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:31-32).
The Social Culture is shaped by the life and behaviours of the king and his citizens. This cultural aspect sets the kingdom apart from others, reflecting the nature of the king through the lifestyle of his people. This distinction in Kingdom culture is highlighted in the words of Jesus, who often stated in the Book of Matthew, “You have heard it said… but I tell you” (Matt. 5:21-22), and also, “It shall not be so among you” (Matt. 20:26 KJV). The culture of the Kingdom should be apparent in our everyday actions and interactions.
Conclusion: just as we have said that God’s intention was to colonized the earth through man. As believers, we live on earth but our citizenship is in the Kingdom of heaven, and all the resources, authority, and
power of that Kingdom is available to us as we seek to live as faithful and responsible ambassadors of our King.
Prayer
Let your kingdom come and your will be done on Earth as t is in Heaven
