Germany Pledges €20M for Intervention in Borno and Yobe

The German government has reaffirmed its commitment to rebuilding conflict-affected communities in Northeastern Nigeria with the launch of the second phase of the UNICEF-WFP Resilience and Peacebuilding programme.

This phase, valued at over N1.7 billion (€20 million), aims to build on the successes of the first phase, which reached over 150,000 beneficiaries, including vulnerable groups such as under-five children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, out-of-school children, and food-insecure households.

The new phase seeks to expand access to essential services and enhance peacebuilding efforts, targeting more than 200,000 people across Borno and Yobe states.

This initiative underscores the German government's continued support for Nigeria's recovery efforts and its commitment to improving the lives of those affected by conflict in the region.
