QDON'T EAT COW MEAT IF WE MUST WIN THIS WAR.
I once lived near an abattoir in Abuja, and there was a lovely woman, a Nigerien lady, who used to come around asking for help after the flood had displaced her from her home in Niger. She frequently visited my house to ask for water after spending her days begging for alms. Feeling a sense of compassion, I began to offer her food. Her gratitude encouraged her to open up to me, and she kindly warned us not to eat cow meat—for the sake of both our physical and spiritual well-being.
She urged me to visit the abattoir at 6:00 a.m., explaining that cows are slaughtered very early in the morning. She told me to stay hidden and observe the rituals that take place before the slaughter. According to her, there is a special imam responsible for offering prayers and performing the killing in every abattoir.
I followed her advice. I went early and watched the process. What I saw was disturbing. Before the mallams slaughter the cows, they recite incantations. Then they kill the animal and collect the first blood in a small bowl. I didn’t understand what it meant, so I waited for my friend from Niger to return the next day and explain it to me.
She told me that the blood is collected to spiritually weaken their enemies—those who consume the meat. She also said that the Fulani no longer eat cow meat themselves. Instead, they have adjusted to eating sheep, chickens, and rams because they know that the cow meat has been mystically polluted.
Since that time in 2013, I can’t remember the last time I bought cow meat.
So the question is: Are we being spiritually weakened by continuously consuming cow meat?
Research it. Do some people sleep with cows? Yes. Why would they do that? That remains a mystery.
Do they worship their cows? Yes.
How then can we convince our people to stop eating cow meat so that the blood market collapses? It's almost impossible.
But can we avoid eating cow meat in the South? Absolutely.
Think about this: in the early 1970s, cow meat was not our dominant source of protein. We raised our own native Ibibio cows. We imported stockfish, which was common in many homes. We ate our own goats and chickens. People were spiritually sound and mentally balanced.
One thing about life is this: if you're not careful about what you consume, death can be very, very easy.
My people, after reading this—talk to your spirit.
Thank you.
