BSSMLB MOVES TO ESTABLISH BENUE LOTTO COMPANY

The Benue State Sports Marketing and Lottery Board (BSSMLB) has commenced arrangements to establish a state-owned lotto company, aimed at enhancing internally generated revenue for the state.

The Executive Secretary of the board, Hon. Michael Uper, disclosed this during a meeting with Mr. Kelani Opeyemi, Co-founder of Gaim Technologies Limited, a renowned company specializing in innovative software solutions for the lottery and gaming industry.

The meeting, which held today in Lagos, provided a platform for discussions on the strategies and requirements for establishing a World – Class Lotto Company for the state. Hon. Uper, who led the BSSMLB delegation, emphasized the need for Benue to own a lotto company that will contribute more to the state IGR.

Mr. Gadafi Asemanya, Head of Enforcement and Compliance at BSSMLB said, "We also are looking at how we can come into the market, ensure transparency, and build trust for our customers and generate revenue for the state.”

In response, Mr. Opeyemi provided a detailed explanation of the requirements for establishing a state-owned lotto company, assuring the BSSMLB delegation of his company's willingness to assist in setting up the company.

"We have assisted in setting up several reputable gaming and lottery companies in Nigeria and beyond, and we are committed to delivering a great job for Benue State, “ Mr. Opeyemi said.

Gaim Technologies Limited, with its expertise in innovative software solutions, product consultancy, and data analysis, is poised to play a key role in the establishment of the Benue State Lotto Company.

As part of the planned establishment, the BSSMLB plans to forward a proposal to Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia for approval. The proposed company is expected to generate significant revenue for the state and create employment opportunities for its citizens.

BENUE ROLLS OUT INVESTMENT CARPET FOR PREMIER LOTTO

The Benue State Sports Marketing and Lottery Board (BSSMLB) has held a high-level meeting with Premier Lotto Company, a leading gaming and lottery operator, to woo the company to establish a full presence in the state.

Led by the Executive Secretary, Hon. Michael Uper, the BSSMLB delegation urged Premier Lotto to take advantage of the state's investment-friendly environment and establish a full-fledged operation in Benue.

Hon. Uper emphasized that the state government, under the leadership of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, is committed to providing an enabling environment for businesses to thrive. "Governor Alia's administration is focused on promoting economic growth and development in the state, and we believe that your full investment in our state will be crucial to achieving this goal," he said.

He assured Premier Lotto that the board would provide the necessary support to ensure the company's success in the state. This includes assistance in acquiring office accommodation, assigning shop locations in business-friendly areas, and providing adequate security and protection for the company's operations.

The BSSMLB Boss also used the opportunity to express concerns about Premier Lotto's current operations in the state, noting that the company's agents have been carrying out skeletal services in the state without proper offices, and that the company's license with the state government has expired and should be renewed.

However, Premier Lotto's Administration Manager, Mrs. Peace Ojogho, explained that the company has been cautious about investing fully in Benue due to concerns about the high cost of investment and insecurity in the state.

Despite these concerns, Mrs. Ojogho stated that the BSSMLB delegation's visit has motivated the company to consider investing in Benue. "Your presence has given us the confidence to invest in Benue, and I assure you we will

Gov. Alia lauds B-SIPA DG Doris Iyo, inaugurates Steering Committee...

Earlier today, at the Old Banquet Hall, Government House, Makurdi, the Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia inaugurated a steering committee to monitor and oversee the smooth running of the social investment programmes in Benue State.

Delivering his address, the Governor who was ably represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dcns Deborah Serumun Aber, Esq, stated that the nominees were selected solely on the basis of merit and as members of the various agencies, departments and paraststals pivotal to the running of the programme in Benue State.

The governor further heaped acumens on the B-SIPA DG, Hon. (Chief) Mrs. Doris Shadrack Iyo, whom he described as a hardworking and competent woman, who has thus far, demonstrated the highest level of commitment and dedication to her job.

Earlier in her welcome address, she B-SIPA DG, expressed her unreserved appreciation to the Executive Governor of Benue State for finding her worthy of appointment, and vowed never to disappoint him.

Benue State Governor's Principal Special Assistant on Public Utility, Hon. Timothy Chia, in his characteristic prompt response to public concerns, rushed to Abubakar Atiku Road, Makurdi where an Indomie Road Show/promo vehicle accidentally knocked down a streetlight pole.

Hon. Timothy Chia arrived at the scene to assess the level of damage and ensuring that immediate repairs is carried out to restore the affected utility.
