Good evening, distinguished parents, family, friends, and well-wishers!

By the grace of God, we have successfully concluded the 8th edition of our Summer Leadership Program for children. This year, we were blessed to have over 100 children, interns, and a team of dedicated volunteers and professionals from the arts and tech industries.

Tomorrow, we will close this year's program with an exhibition and a fun-filled picnic at the Sheraton Hotel. We are immensely grateful to our boss, mentor, father, and parent, Mr. John Amali, for granting us a generous discount for the venue. Our shining stars will have a wonderful platform to swim, jump, dance, and play!

We are giving our shining stars—both old and new members of the KingDavid Socapa Kids—a platform to express themselves.

I’d been feeling unwell when my brother (a medical doctor) called from Lagos. He recommended medication, but I hesitated: “I’ll get it when I have money.” He insisted on sending funds via Opay, playfully scolding: "Answer jor, you too stubborn!" 😄

At the pharmacy, I was comparing drug options when two kids burst in shouting “Daddy David!” and hugged me. Their mom nudged: “Won’t you greet?” Suddenly, they beamed: “Daddy David, good evening! Where is Mummy Ivy?” (A question I always expect!), then mentioned Excel and Tehila – melting my heart! ❤️

After confirming the right drug with my brother (via photo), the price is too much oooo, I said. He swnt even more. But! . As I hesitated, another family entered. Their kids too chorused: “Daddy David!” 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Noticing the first kids watching me, I did what I love( Sometimes): gifted all 5 children treats. Before I knew it, 75% of the medicine money was gone!

Walking home, I pondered: “Was this reckless?”But a quiet voice reassured: “He who gives, receives.” The kids’ smiles, hugs, and genuine prayers settled my doubts. 🕊️

My wife was unimpressed I skipped the meds, she said: “Na you sabi, wetin concern me?” 😅

Yet the twist? The pain never returned. Three years later, I’m healed!

I remember this story well because today is 9th August — Exactly 3 years ago today, it was Summer.

Giving hurts sometimes, but within the authentic prayers of those you bless breakthroughs hide. 🌟 My experience may not work for you. Thank you.

Jackie came to me saying she’d finished painting. "Daddy, how did I do?" she asked. I replied, "Let me see!" as she showed me her work. When I looked at it, I almost laughed—but Jackie noticed my reaction immediately. (My mistake... I’m still regretting it.) I sat her down, patiently guiding her to refine the painting together.

Later, I found Jackie lying quietly on the decks. Worried, I encouraged her to eat, but she said she wasn’t hungry. I tried to persuade her, yet she sighed, "I’m tired of eating." (I nodded—I understood.) I offered her a jelly. She took it, whispered a faint "thank you" (unlike her usual self), but didn’t eat. Then, tears began to fall. My heart broke. That’s when I knew I’d messed up. Big time. "Jackie, I’m so sorry," I said.

I brought her to my office to talk. As I spoke to her, I realized I was speaking, i wasnt just speaking to her, God was taking me through sone experience.

So often, past failures blind us to future victories—to the guidance God gives us in each moment. We remember the faces that mocked us, the trust broken, the disappointments we caused... The shame sticks. It fuels depression, mental health struggles, and pain.

Like little Jackie, all she wanted was one "SWEET" with love from Daddy David"—not a mocking glance at her painting. My thoughtless reaction broke her. Even though she’d finished the painting, even though her lunch cost ten times more than a treat, all she needed was Daddy’s proud smile. That one moment gave others permission to laugh, and shame her, weighed her down.

Waking up today, I realized: Shame destroys dreams. It makes people stop believing, caring, showing up, working, innovating.

Don’t stop. Keep going.

Jesus fed thousands, healed the sick—yet they stoned Him. They hated Him without cause.

But if you’re feeling broken, remember: He loves you. He’ll **never** leave you.
