In line with His Excellency’s directive, the Ministry of Works has commenced inspection of access roads leading to the oil field at Opialu, Okpokwu LGA.

The visit aims to open up the oil field for exploration activities.

Engr. Wombo, Director Civil Engineering of the Ministry of works Housing and Urban Development along side Mohammed of Gatami Enterprise and the survey team were warmly received by Chief Dr. Matthew Agaba, a distinguished son of Opialu.

Preliminary survey works are currently in progress.

BENUE APC ANNOUNCES GOVERNOR ALIA’S THANK-YOU TOUR ACROSS 11 FEDERAL CONSTITUENCIES

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Benue State Chapter, has announced a state-wide Thank-You Tour by the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, across the 11 Federal Constituencies of the state.

The tour, which begins on Monday, August 24, 2026, is aimed at enabling the Governor to personally appreciate APC faithful, political stakeholders, traditional rulers, party elders and other critical stakeholders for their support, while further strengthening the relationship between the government, the party and the people.

The State APC therefore calls on all government appointees, members of the State Executive Committee, Local Government Area party executives, party stakeholders and members of the APC in the respective constituencies to turn out massively to welcome His Excellency.

Also expected are traditional rulers, political leaders, party elders and other invited stakeholders.

BENUE APC CHAIRMAN CHARGES SUPPORT GROUPS TO UNITE, MOBILISE FOR TINUBU, ALIA 2027 VICTORY

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Hon. Chief Dr Benjamin Omale, has charged party members and support groups in Benue South to close ranks and intensify grassroots mobilisation for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia and other candidates of the party in 2027.

Omale gave the charge on Saturday in Otukpo while speaking at the inauguration of the Zonal, Local Government and Ward Executive Committees of the APC Benue South Diplomats for Tinubu, Alia/Ode 2027.

He urged the group to work closely with established APC structures and build an effective grassroots mobilisation network capable of reaching voters across every ward and community in the Senatorial District.

The APC chairman said the group must deploy peace, persuasion and negotiation in winning voters, stressing that political mobilisation should be driven by issues, dialogue and the collective interest of the people.

He said the re-election of President Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Governor Alia and Deputy Governor Sam Ode required the commitment and coordinated efforts of party members and support groups across the state.

Deputy Governor Sam Ode, who represented Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, charged the newly inaugurated executives to develop and implement a comprehensive grassroots mobilisation strategy covering every ward and community in Benue South.

Ode urged them to identify supporters, engage undecided voters, strengthen existing structures and maintain regular communication with the people, stressing that every ward, local government, community and voter mattered in the 2027 elections.

He said the Alia administration had demonstrated commitment to rebuilding Benue through improvements in infrastructure, education and healthcare, as well as programmes designed to support the people and restore confidence in government.

The Deputy Governor also urged the group to educate the people on the programmes and achievements of the Tinubu administration, particularly its economic reforms, while calling for patience and collective responsibility.

He cautioned the executives against provocative and abusive political engagements, urging them to promote peaceful, responsible and issue-based politics while avoiding parallel structures and unnecessary conflicts.

The Convener of the group, Hon. Odeh Igbabe Nicodemus, described the organisation as a vibrant grassroots support platform established to mobilise support for President Tinubu, Governor Alia and Deputy Governor Sam Ode ahead of the 2027 elections.

Igbabe disclosed that the group had constituted nine Local Government Coordinators and 101 Ward Coordinators across Benue South and pledged to work with the APC campaign structure while appealing to well-meaning individuals and groups to support its mobilisation activities.

The event was attended by the Head of Service, Dr. Eunice Ogbenyi; Commissioner for Education, Dr. Mrs. Margaret Ijaguwa Adamu; members of the Benue State House of Assembly from Zone C; Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Barr. Musa Suleiman Ujor; Chief Dr. Peter Ochijele and other government functionaries and party stakeholders.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Benue State Chapter, under the leadership of Hon. Chief Dr Benjamin Omale, felicitates with the seven newly appointed Commissioners sworn into office today by the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia.

The Party commends Governor Alia for choosing highly experienced, competent and accomplished individuals to serve in these strategic positions, describing their appointments as a further demonstration of his commitment to effective and responsive governance.

The APC congratulates Hon. Kuma Aii Yenge, Hon. Roy Ashirga Terna, Hon. Angwa Egbe Monday, Hon. Elizabeth Onma Ogenyi, Hon. Solomon Iorpev, Hon. Nick Eworo and Hon. Ankwa Amo on their appointments and swearing-in.
