BE MINDFUL OF WHOSE ADVISE YOU ARE FOLLOWING

2 Chronicles 24:19
Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again unto the Lord; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear.

Have you ever gone through a big change and suddenly wondered who you even are anymore? Maybe a mentor moved away, a relationship shifted, or grief left you unsteady. When your support is gone, it is easy to feel lost and start trusting whatever voice sounds confident.

In 2 Kings 12 and 2 Chronicles 24, young king Joash did well while the priest Jehoiada guided him, even repairing God’s temple with renewed passion. After Jehoiada died, Joash followed ungodly advisers and his heart turned. Scripture gently warns us, “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise” (Proverbs 13:20).

If you notice yourself drifting, you are not alone, and you are not stuck. Ask God for wisdom and steady people, believing that “if any of you lacks wisdom… He gives generously” (James 1:5). He can rebuild what feels broken, and His faithfulness can guide your next step.

Today, you stand a chance to make that conscious decision to be mindful of how you conduct yourself and whose advice you take. Do not lower your standards to become comfortable with ungodliness.

May the God of grace help us all not be moved from our place of faith due to ungodly influence in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
