BEDTIME PRAYERS
"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, The Lord, my rock, and my redeemer".
Psalm 19:14

Mighty God, we are indebted to You for all Your goodness and loving kindness. Your greatness is beyond comprehension, and Your glory fills the earth. The rushing waters carve out their course according to Your will. The winds shift and sail on the path You’ve set out for them. The beasts of the earth and birds of the air thrive under the laws of nature You have written. Your Word is perfect, and Your will is trustworthy. We know the closer we are to You, the better off we become. But still, our hearts tend to stray, and sometimes our minds embarks on a wandering journey. Bring us continually to a place of awe and reverence. We want the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts to please You. Steady our breath and heartbeat tonight. As our chest rises and falls with each sigh, fill us with comfort that assures us You are in control and by our side all the days of our lives. In Jesus’ Name, we pray, Amen.

Bedtime prayers

In Psalm 27:1 David asks fear two questions it cannot answer. 'Light' dispels darkness of confusion; 'salvation' delivers from danger. 'Strength of my life' literally means 'fortress of my life.' With God as illumination, deliverance, and defense, fear becomes illogical.

'Whom shall I fear?' expects no answer because none exists. When the Lord fills all protective roles, threats shrink to their true size—nothing compared to God.

Lord God King of glory, thank You for You are a light to Your children in dark corners, salvation in danger, strength in weakness. Fear has no answer before Your very presence.

We worship You mighty King for Your divine protection over our lives. We confess before You our short falls; fearing people and circumstances more than trusting in Your saving power.

Thank You for being all we need for fearless living. Tonight we pray that may You be our light, salvation and strength against every form of fear and manipulations of the evil one. Grant us Your peace, mercy and comfort in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen 🙏
