When someone outside your marriage becomes the first person you want to talk to, confide in, or seek comfort from, a dangerous line may already be forming.

Many people tell themselves, "Nothing physical happened." But emotional intimacy belongs inside marriage too.

Protecting your marriage requires boundaries, wisdom, and honesty.

Proverbs 4:23 tells us to guard our hearts because everything we do flows from them.

A faithful marriage is not just about where your body goes. It is also about where your heart goes.

WHEN PARENTS BECOME THIRD PARTNERS IN THE MARRIAGE

I believe one of the most delicate challenges many couples face is balancing respect for parents with loyalty to their spouse.

Let me be clear. Honoring your parents is biblical. However, there is a difference between seeking advice and allowing outsiders to run your marriage.

Problems often begin when every disagreement between husband and wife is reported to family members. Soon, private matters become public discussions, and resentment begins to grow.

A healthy marriage requires healthy boundaries.

Genesis 2:24 says a man shall leave his father and mother and be united to his wife. That does not mean abandoning your parents. It means your spouse becomes your primary earthly relationship.

Your marriage needs guidance, but it also needs privacy.

STOP LOOKING FOR A PERFECT SPOUSE

Social media has convinced many people that somewhere out there is a perfect husband or a perfect wife waiting to be found.

The truth is much simpler.

Perfect people do not exist.

Every person comes with strengths and weaknesses. Every relationship requires patience, understanding, compromise, and growth.

Many people reject good potential spouses because they are chasing unrealistic expectations. They want someone who has no flaws, no baggage, and never makes mistakes.

That person does not exist.

What matters most is finding someone whose values align with yours, whose character you respect, and who is committed to growing with you.

Romans 3:23 reminds us that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Don't miss a good person because you are searching for a perfect one.
