🗣️CRISTIANO RONALDO: "When I lost my son, I spoke with the board and the president of Manchester United, but I felt like they didn’t fully believe what was happening, and that made me feel really bad. My daughter was in the hospital for a week after we lost our son, and I didn’t go to preseason because I wasn’t going to leave my family in that situation. I didn’t think it was right to leave them for something like preseason. I would never trade my family’s health for football, never, not now or ten years from now.
In that difficult moment, it hurt me deeply that they doubted my words and my professionalism. I’ve dedicated 21 years to top-level football, and that’s not possible without being professional. But family will always come first.
The football world, not just in Manchester, can be very individualistic; often they don’t care what you’re going through or your family problems, they just want you to be available to play. But I’ll always make the decisions that are best for my family."
