Meet Halima Sadiya Yusuf
Halima Sadiya Yusuf hails from Maikunkele, Bosso Local Government Area of Niger State, Nigeria, and belongs to the Gbagi tribe. She studied biochemistry at Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto.
Halima is the founder of Spice Haven Global, a business specializing in cooking and tea spices made from natural ingredients. She launched her business in 2021, inspired by her love for nature and all things natural. Her products are crafted from raw materials without any additives, reflecting her passion for purity and simplicity.
Halima's background in biochemistry significantly influences her business, allowing her to apply her academic knowledge to product development. She comes from a family of four and is the eldest child. Currently, she is not married.
Running Spice Haven Global comes with its challenges. Halima notes that patronage tends to be seasonal, with spikes during festive periods like Sallah and Ramadan, followed by quieter times. However, she remains resilient and continually adapts to these fluctuations. Additionally, she faces occasional difficulties in sourcing raw materials, including herbs, spices, containers, and labels. Despite these hurdles, she finds ways to overcome them.
Halima's advice to both the young and old is to strive for independence. She emphasizes the importance of having multiple sources of income, especially since white-collar jobs alone often do not suffice to cover all expenses in today's economy.
