Before i lost my mum in 2021, she once told me that i was BORN on this day 13th of August.

May Allah forgive her and grant her Jannatul Firdaus, Ameen.

Join me to celebrate, as i mark the beginning of another 365 days in my life, wishing myself sound health, wealth, and prosperity.

As Allah says in the holy Quran: "If you are grateful to Me, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.'"

Who am i then to deny the Lord's favors?

Alhamdulillah for the gift of life and for all that God has done in my life.

How did i even get here? 🤔Alhamdulillah for growth.

Never be ashamed to speakout loud about what you do and where you are in life, so far you're making progress.

One core lesson I've learned as a designer and i want to share with you, is never to be ashamed to showcase your work to the public, whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or expert designer, because there are clients at every level of design your phase, including yours.

Today, there are clients willing to pay designers N2,000 just to have a flyer designed for them, because that's what they can afford at the moment. Whereas, if you don't showcase your work just because you think you're not good enough, then how do you expect them to find you?

Make i no talk am loud sha. But go out there and get your own share. No allow anybody pressure you, so far you're making progress.

Some few weeks ago, a friend of mine reached out to me and told me that i post a lot😂

I was shocked when i heard that from him. Because if i don't carry what i sell on my head, who else will?

If up till today, the biggest beverage company in the world - Coca-Cola still constantly markets their product even after they are known everywhere, then who am i not to market what i sell?

A lot of people think having a great product is enough for their product to do well in the marketplace, not knowing fully that the greatest skill you can learn as an entrepreneur is knowing "How to Sell".

While having a great product is good, marketing is the lifeblood of any business. Because without marketing, you will not have sales, and without sales, you will not have cash flow, and without cash flow, your business will die from lack of cash.

Only you and yourself will know you have a great product if you don't tell the world about it.

You can't be hidden and expect people to patronize you. People buy from whom they know.

Keep showing up, guys. Keep creating content, either written, audio, or video content. The number of clients observing you online is greater than your friends list.

You will be surprised when you receive a message from a client who wants to make a buying decision, informing you that they have been following you for more than a year now.

The question to ask here is - What took them so long to make a buying decision?

You can't just wake up, market for a month, and expect clients to pour in. You must justify collecting people's money.

Positioning yourself as an authority and trustworthy on social media takes time... Just keep pushing💪

I made a post a few days ago concerning designers who don't take their time to educate and understand their client. They just design and say, "I've given the client what he/she want," without making the design look successful.

I repeat - What you see as a designer isn't what the client sees.

Check out what a creative designer did after understanding their client on the slide👇

The first time i heard this, i was shocked "Your client do not necessarily know what he/she want."

While this might be true, many will disagree.

Have you ever encountered a situation where, despite delivering a functional design, meeting the client's needs, you still undergo rigorous process of corrections?

It's your responsibility to educate your client.

What you see as a designer isn't what the client sees.

Unfortunately, i heard alot of designers say, "I give the client what he/she want."

While you might be true, but ensure the design speaks functionality.

Give it a modest feel.

Don't just throw colours around, and say you have given them what they want.

Because a creative expert might saw and recreate the design, and potentially loosing your client to someone who understands functionality.

As i said earlier, educate your client. Because what you see as a designer isn't what the client sees.
