Boniface Aniebunam and Associates Remain Expelled from NNPP – Adamawa State Chairman Reaffirms
The Adamawa State Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur Mubi, has reaffirmed the expulsion of Boniface Aniebunam and his associates from the party, stressing that their removal remains valid and enforceable.
Addressing the press, Alhaji Bamanga cited the Federal High Court judgment delivered on April 18, 2024, which upheld the decision to expel Aniebunam and his faction. He warned the public not to fall for the group’s misinformation and media propaganda, as they no longer operate within the legitimate framework of the NNPP.
He urged Aniebunam and his allies to consult legal experts to properly interpret the court’s ruling, noting that the directive for both parties to maintain the status quo confirms that the expulsion still stands.
Alhaji Bamanga further emphasized that Dr. Ajuji Ahmed remains the party's legally recognized National Chairman, as confirmed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the courts. He also reiterated that the party's updated logo, slogan, and flag are the only symbols recognized by law, and that the use of outdated materials by the expelled group has no legal standing.
He added that any expelled member wishing to return must follow due process, beginning with registration at their respective ward level.
On recent rumors regarding party leader Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso joining the APC, Alhaji Bamanga dismissed the claims, asserting that Kwankwaso is focused on repositioning the NNPP for 2027. This aligns with statements made by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ladipo Johnson, who described the defection rumors as false and politically motivated.
In conclusion, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur Mubi extended greetings on behalf of the National Chairman, Dr. Ajuji Ahmed, and the National Working Committee, encouraging the people of Adamawa State to remain steadfast in their support of the NNPP.
