President Jonathan amended the tax law..... He only ended up generating less than 6% revenue to GDP....

President Buhari amended the tax law.... He ended up generating less than 6% Revenue to GDP...

President Obasanjo amended the tax law .... He ended up generating less than 6% Revenue to GDP....

General Abacha amended the tax law.... He ended up generating less than 6% revenue to GDP....

General Babaginda, President Shagari, all amended the tax law and ended up generating less than 6% Revenue to GDP......

This is what the ever corrosive Wailers wants to continue perpetually...

At 5% revenue to GDP.... Nigeria had the worst revenue record on Earth....

Some of this chronic wailers are complaining of Nigeria having the largest concentration of poor people on earth...

There is no way Nigeria could have lifted anybody out of poverty with the near hopeless revenue of Nigeria from 1980 to 2025....

Only visionless and clueless politicians like Mr. Obi, Alhaji Atiku and Mr. Amaechi who would see the hopeless revenue and let Nigeria continue on that hopeless path, without a revolutionary change till the country collapse and cease to exist....

Nigerians have the highest number of private jet owners in Africa.... Yet have the poorest Revenue in the whole of Africa.... This is the fraud Tinubu want to change....

Nigeria can't have a generation of " money na water" yet generate little or no meaningful revenue...

A 15 years old kid who can buy N100 million car.... Can equally contribute money to maintain the road the car will use....

If you are a small girl with big God.... You need to drop something to govt to protect you from your night work....

If a reform is not resisted ...then it is not a reform...

Reforms were resisted in Singapore, in China among others.... Tinubu is implementing common sense revolution in Nigeria....

The 2025 Tax Reform isn’t just another amendment — it’s a transformational rewrite of Nigeria’s tax laws. It consolidates old statutes into a unified regime, modernises the rules for a 21st-century economy, strengthens administration, broadens the tax base,

Tinubu is not increasing tax rate.... But he is capturing rich Nigerians who have been evading tax...

For the first time in 45 years.... Nigeria is set to break the curse 5% Revenue to GDP since 1980 that made Nigeria the world poverty capital since 2014....

For those tax evaders on social media...

You are the reason why the Urhobos will always say...

It is better to born a thief than to born a mumu...

Proverbs are not for kids....

COMPLIMENTS OF THE SEASON TO THE GOOD PEOPLE OF AKOKO NORTH FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

As the year draws to a close, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the good people of Akoko Northeast and Akoko Northwest Federal Constituency for your unwavering support, trust, and cooperation. The journey so far has reaffirmed my belief that leadership is best measured by impact, not excuses.

Emerging through a by-election and representing a constituency excluded from the 2024 national budget posed undeniable challenges. Yet, we have demonstrated that purposeful leadership, strategic partnerships, and people-centered governance can transcend limitations. In less than a full budget cycle, tangible progress has been recorded across critical sectors of human development and community welfare.

INFRASTRUCTURE & EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Education remains the bedrock of sustainable development. In line with this conviction, six blocks of classrooms were facilitated across the constituency to improve learning environments and reduce overcrowding:
• Saint James Primary School, Arigidi Akoko (Completed)
• Ilemopo Comprehensive High School, Irun Akoko
• Ajowa Community Grammar School, Ajowa Akoko
• Agolo Grammar School, Ikare Akoko
• Irepodun Comprehensive High School, Ikakumo Akoko
• Two blocks of three classrooms at Ogbere Okorun-Tuntun, Iyometa, Ikare Akoko (Completed)

EDUCATION SUPPORT & HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT

To ease access to education and reward excellence:
• Hundreds of students benefited from free JAMB registration across both LGAs
• A ₦1 million scholarship was awarded to the highest-scoring UTME candidate in the constituency (2024)

• Facilitation of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Foreign Postgraduate Scholarship for Mr. Rabiu Lateef Omobolade of Unit 1, Orun Ward 2, Ikare Akoko, enabling him to pursue a Master’s degree in the United Kingdom

HEALTHCARE INTERVENTIONS

Strengthening grassroots healthcare was prioritized through the renovation and equipping of Primary Healthcare Centres in:
• Ajowa Akoko
• Akunu Akoko
• Oyin Akoko
• Irun Akoko
• Ogbagi Akoko
• Ikare Akoko

In addition, the IBI-DERO Healthcare Support Initiative was launched, providing delivery kits and essential care items to expectant mothers across the constituency.

SECURITY, WATER & BASIC AMENITIES

To enhance safety, night-time visibility, and commercial activity, solar-powered streetlights were installed in:
• Ogbagi Akoko
• Ikare Akoko
• Ajowa Akoko
• Oyin Akoko

Access to clean water was improved through solar-powered boreholes in:
• Okeagbe Akoko
• Funmilayo Street, Ikare Akoko
• Okeruwa Street, Ikare Akoko
• Ugbe Akoko
• Ogbagi Akoko
• Eriti Akoko

YOUTH EMPOWERMENT, JOB CREATION & CAPACITY BUILDING

Understanding that youth empowerment drives community progress, the following interventions were implemented:

Federal Jobs, Appointments & Capacity Building
• Facilitation of national appointments for two constituents as:
• Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) to the Office of the Speaker, House of Representatives
• Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) to the Office of the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives
• Facilitation of federal employment and placements for constituents in the following agencies:

1. Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo State
2. Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON)
3. Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria
4. Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS)
5. Federal Fire Service
6. National Assembly Service Commission
7. Industrial Training Fund (ITF)
8. Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST)
9. Sheda Science and Technology Complex (SHEDA)

• Poultry training and empowerment programme for women and youths with starter packs
• Free CAC business registration for emerging entrepreneurs across both LGAs

AGRICULTURE & COMMUNITY WELFARE
• Distribution of fertilizers to farmers to boost productivity and food security
• Distribution of food items to thousands of households during Christmas, New Year, and Ramadan
• Sponsorship of a constituent for pilgrimage to Jerusalem, reaffirming commitment to spiritual and social wellbeing

LEGISLATIVE PERFORMANCE & ADVOCACY

Despite the absence of constituency budgetary allocation in 2024, effective representation remained unwavering. Key motions raised include:
• Resuscitation of rural infrastructure, including the Ayere/Kaba–Akunu Road
• Rehabilitation of General Hospital, Ikare
• Relief interventions for disaster-affected communities

Bills Sponsored
1. Federal College of Education, Oyin Akoko (Passed Third Reading)
2. Federal Technical & Vocational Institute, Ikare Akoko
3. Amendment of the Minerals & Mining Act to enhance investment and youth participation
4. Bill for the creation of Ose State

Beyond my legislative responsibilities within the Green Chamber, I have also had the honour of representing Nigerian youths and our nation on key international parliamentary platforms. I represented Nigeria at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) meetings in Geneva and Doha, Qatar, as well as at the Conference of African Speakers and Presidents of African Legislatures in Morocco.

These engagements provided strategic opportunities to project the voice of Nigerian youths, strengthen legislative diplomacy, and contribute to global conversations on governance, youth inclusion, and sustainable development. I remain committed to ensuring that our constituency and the Nigerian youth population are not only represented at home but also have a strong voice on the global stage.

LOOKING AHEAD

This year has laid a solid foundation. The coming year will focus on consolidating these gains, expanding opportunities, deepening youth inclusion, strengthening institutions, and attracting more federal presence to Akoko Northeast/Northwest Federal Constituency. The task ahead is demanding, but the commitment remains unwavering.

Together, we will continue to build an Akoko that works for all.

Yours in Service,

Hon. Ifeoluwa Ehindero
Chairman, House Committee on Students’ Loans,
Scholarships and Higher Education Financing
Member, House of Representatives

MINISTER TASKS YOUTHS ON PERSEVERANCE

Minister tasks youths on perseverance

December 13, 2025 12:37 pm

The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has charged Nigerian youths not to allow the hardships of today blur their vision of the Nigeria they want to build.

This is contained in a statement by the Minister’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Babatunde Alao, on Saturday in Abuja.

The minister gave the advice when he received an Award of Excellence in Public Service conferred on him by the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, on Friday.

Tunji-Ojo said he still has a strong belief that Nigerian youths remain the most powerful asset of the country.

“You are the keepers of the future. Your ideas, courage, conviction and curiosity will determine the direction of our nation,” he said.

According to him, Nigeria’s future will be shaped by the level of unity, institutional reform and renewed national spirit embodied by its citizens.

He said that the award carried a weight far beyond personal recognition, adding that it reaffirmed his belief that Nigeria is “rising” on the strength of its collective resolve.

The minister reiterated that national renewal was no longer an aspiration but a journey strengthened by courage, faith and shared responsibility.

“Let me affirm what I believe with all my heart, ‘Nigeria is Rising’, not because our challenges have disappeared, but because our resolve is stronger than ever.

“Not because the path is smooth, but because our collective will refuses to bend, hence this award encourages us to continue on the path of national renewal with renewed faith, courage and hope.

“I remain convinced that Nigeria is moving steadily towards a stronger, more resilient future,” Tunji-Ojo said.

He appreciated President Bola Tinubu for providing the framework for institutional transformation through the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He described the President’s vision as a mandate for efficiency, compassion and national confidence.

Tunji-Ojo dedicated the award to young Nigerians, civil servants, his family, and to President Tinubu, whose commitment to reforms continues to energise national renewal.

He further expressed gratitude to OAU leadership for upholding a tradition of intellectual integrity and national service.

He used the platform to reflect on key reforms he has undertaken since assuming office in 2023.

Tunji-Ojo reiterated that the automation of passport processes and backlog clearance has improved border management and enhanced professionalism in the Nigeria Immigration Service.

In his speech, Prof. Adebayo Bamire, Vice Chancellor of OAU, said the minister has demonstrated through his performance at various leadership levels that he is ready to provide solutions.

“We commend the Minister of Interior for providing effective services and strategic leadership across the nation and have proven to be a good ambassador of this university,” he said.
