SOUTH EAST GOVERNORS AND AGENDA 2026.

I must not fail to tell the IGBO Governors in the South East to think about development in the following areas....

1. DREDGING OF THE RIVER NIGER.This should be number 1 objects of the Region. It will not only put an end to the yearly flooding but open the way to sea port at Onitsha functioning better.

This will bring about economic revival and investments in the South East.

It will also possibly bring about tourism and Water transportation to the riverside communities.

2. FOREIGN SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS FROM SOUTH EAST.

It is a sad thing that the tool our ancestors used to develop the Manpower of Igbos have been so neglected that even States in the North like Kano have passed us.

Some states in the North have given foreign scholarships to over 1000 students at a time to study medicine and medical related courses abroad.

The once great South East is sleeping . please when do we wake up. Before we know it, the North will parade more medical doctors than the East.

Former Governor Sam Egwu was the only Governor then who gave EBONYI Indigenes foreign scholarships to study abroad. I think Gov Francis NWIFURU is also doing something about it.

We may soon see a time when Northerners will become doctors taking care of South East patients in our land.

3. SPONSORSHIP OF RELIGIOUS PROJECTS LIKE MOSQUE.
In the North, the local Government and State governments are the ones who build most of the mosques.

Few individuals like Dantata also build mosques.

Why can't the South East local Government and State governments do the same in igbo land.

4. FARM SETTLEMENTS AND PLANTATIONS. Let the South East governors return to the time of Chief Micheal Okpara during regional development by setting up many plantations and farm settlements in IGBO land.

This is one of the greatest forms of palliative ,now that the country is facing hardship.

It will also provide employment for our youths.

It will also be a source of internally generated revenue for the region . These farm products may also be exported to earn foreign income.

The management of such should be left to professionals not political appointees or politicians . These private management teams would have like 10% stake in the Enterprise.

Using political appointees to manage them may mark the death of such projects as we have seen in the past.

5. RAILWAY WITHIN THE SOUTH EAST.

Each Governor in the South East should construct a railway within their state.

This is another great form of palliative in the hardship we are experiencing in Nigeria today.

It will also bring the cost of transportation down by 90 % to those who cannot afford road transportation.

The State will also improve productivity as farm produce would be transported easily and cheaper.

People can also live in their village and work in the cities.

They will also be generating IGR from it.

I rest my case.

WHY PRESIDENT BOLA TINUBU SHOULD AVOID PRIVATISATION OF GOVERNMENT INFRASTRUCTURES.
Francis Obinna Okoye

President TINUBU should avoid privatisation of Government infrastructures that he is planning to do now.

The reasons for these are as follows.
1. Privatisation has never solved the problem it was supposed to solve in Nigeria. Check out the government owned infrastructure that were privatised under Obasanjo and Atiku. How many of them are working today as expected.

2. Privatisation means the government will get a one time payment and lose a regular generation of income from such infrastructure.

3. Government losses are a very important part of regulating such infrastructure as those who bought it can even sabotage the government.

4. Privatisation may work in other countries but not in Nigeria. There is always the Nigerian factor.

THE SOLUTION IS A HOME GROWN OPTION.

1. FG should invite a professional management team, if possible from Nigeria or abroad who have the capacity to manage such infrastructure on behalf of the government. They could be given 10% as their management fee.

2. Never should the FG appoint or invite politicians to manage the infrastructure as this is the reason why several privatised infrastructure in Nigeria failed till today.

Apart from the politicians and political appointees not being qualified to manage such facilities, they often are there for their own pocket and that of their masters.

All the projects managed by these sets of people have either collapsed or are now white elephant projects.

3. President TINUBU Should study the Peter Obi system with the makers of Hero Beer. It will do well to restructure every government owned facility in this way.

GOV PETER MBAH INDUSTRIAL PROJECT.
Recently Gov Peter MBAH of Enugu began the re-establishment of Nigergas industry in Enugu .

Nigergas was set up over 50 years ago by Dr M I Okpara of the Eastern Region.

It is a good idea to revamp the industry.

The Governor should ask him self

1. Why did the industry, I mean Nigergas fold up in the first instance.? Answering this question will help make sure it doesn't fold up again.

2. Politicians and political appointees should stay clear of that factory. In the past ,most government owned factories have folded up due to the activities of political appointees managing them.

3. GOV MBAH should hand over the project to international firms in similar business to manage. Then Enugu State will own shares in the factory.

These three things are needed for the project's sustainability.

I must commend the Governor for this new project. It shows a leader with vision and innovation to come up with this project.

He should also extend the action to Nwachi vegetables oil factory, Niger cem nkalagu and the palm oil plantations of the past.

Reducing impact.
GOVERNMENT SHOULD DO MORE.
Government should do more to reduce the impact of removal of fuel subsidy and fixing of naira.

Not much has been done in this regard

The hardship is biting harder and harder . It seems as if Government has lost control but we know they need to do more.

They should remember that with their all yoruba economic team, 2027 is around the corner.

PRESIDENT BUHARI-THE MAN WHO TOOK SOME ADVICE.
Late President Buhari took the advice I gave him ( maybe others also gave him the advice) to build the second Niger bridge and also build all federal roads in South East, even if it is to borrow money to do it. However he didn't take my advice on forcing Fulani herdsmen to take to cattle Ranch.

May his soul rest in peace,Amen.
