The Lord never gave Job an answer. He never laid out reasons or unraveled mysteries. But he did something far greater—he gave Job himself.
He gave.
And he took away.
But never once did he withdraw his presence.
Even when Job sat in silence, scraping his wounds, searching the heavens for a voice that would not come—God was there. Even when the world seemed emptied of his goodness, when Job could not trace his hand or understand his ways, God had not moved. He was present in the shadows, sovereign in the sorrow, steady in the storm.
He knew the way Job took. He saw every tear that fell into the dust. And though he allowed Job to sit among the ashes, he did not leave him there.
You may never hear the answer you long for. You may cry out for an explanation and be met with silence. But God does not owe you reasons, nor is he bound to satisfy your questions.
Yet, in the aching absence of answers, he gives something far greater.
He gives himself.
Not a defense. Not a dissertation. Not a divine justification of suffering. But his presence—closer than breath, stronger than grief, deeper than despair.
And when all else is stripped away, when the “why” still lingers unanswered, you will find that he alone is enough.🫰🏼🩷
