Alice’s pov

Yearning on my bed,
It's daybreak.
I checked my watch"what?, it's 9:30 already
Gosh I'm late for work "I hurriedly rushed down from my bed.My friend, Jessica,who we share an apartment together comes in,"Hey girl,why the hurry"
"Shut the heck, I'm late for work and you can't even wake me" I snapped at her."bitch, it's Saturday"I felt a huge relief,"ughhh,thank God,I won't have to deal with that crazy boss today.I bounce back on my bed."Don't even dare to, it's weekend, we've got clean the house"Jessica yelled at me.
"It's too early dearie" I said in a low tone faking a lazy stress in my voice."that your trick won't work,am waiting for you downstairs"Jessica disappeared from my room.

Later in the day,I was watching movie with Jessica."Did you plan on going out today ?"Curious Jessica,she would always want to know what my plans are and how my days went.Since I've moved to Florida, I've not been doing anything serious than going to work during week days and staying at home throughout the weekend.She is the only one I knew in Florida.
"You know the answer already,stop pulling my legs"
"I'm not pulling your legs, it's been a while you've moved to Florida, don't you think you should mingle with people".
I startled,"people like........"
"I mean people at your workplace or any where"
"Jessica stop,I came here in search of a good living not to make friends" something brushed through my mind."Jessica,I met Oliver"
Disappointedly, Jessica pretended to focus on the movie."Jessica,am talking to you" No response
"Jessica" I yelled."Hey,why raising your voice,you asked me to stop and I do"
"That's not what i mean"
"Okay,so who do you meet?"

Sitting on the counter,“where on earth will I get this huge amount of money from?”Alice sighed.
Alice left California in search for better life, since the death of her father,life has been miserable for her,her mother and her younger sister.

Although she struggled to pass out from tertiary education,yet life kept on mistreating them to the extent of her mother falling in to a serious sickness.She has no other choice than to leave for Florida to make a better living.
She got a cashier job, though it was a little earning,at least for a better start.Her mother sickness grew worse till she almost spent all her little earnings on it ,hardly could she it a three times meal daily from her salary due to her mother's sickness.Her mother was diagnosed to have an heart disease,the treatment for it , results to them depositing one million naira if they do not want to loose their mother.

"This is not allowed,Alice.You have a customer to attend to ”Helen,one of the grocery store workers, snapped at her.

"Oh, I'm sorry.Hey, bring out the things you bought "
The customer turn out to be Alice old school mate
"Alice"
Look into the customer's eye as if she was trying to remember something.
"Oliver,is this you"
Alice questioned suprisingly.
"Of course,good to see you, what are you doing here"
"Am sure you are not blind"Alice smirked
"It's a question, you've never change from this your old school ways"
"Neither do you,"
He hesitated and brings out his business card"You should give me a call later"
"Okay sir"Alice replied
"Common"Oliver chuckled.
