🔥 Peter Obi Accused of ‘Dictatorial Tendencies’ by LP Factional Leader ⚡
According to a report by Daily Trust (Sept 29, 2025), Elizabeth Ativie, the factional chairman of the Labour Party (LP) in Edo State, has launched a fresh attack on Peter Obi, accusing him of “dictatorial tendencies” that have tarnished his political image.

👉 Ativie, aligned with LP’s national chairman Julius Abure, claimed that Obi’s actions since the 2023 elections reveal a leader focused more on personal ambition than on strengthening the party.

🗣️ Highlighting Obi’s role in the contentious Edo governorship race, she said:

> “The wind has blown and Nigerians have seen the true dictatorial nature of a would-have-been President of Nigeria.”

📍 She criticized Obi for allegedly disregarding internal party agreements, such as Edo State’s zoning arrangement, describing his leadership style as self-serving and unstable.

🤝 Instead of consolidating the goodwill of over 6 million votes gained in the 2023 elections, Ativie alleged that Obi has embarked on a “desperate search for alliances.”

💔 TRAGIC LOSS: Arise News Anchor Sommie Passes Away 🕊️

New details have emerged on the death of Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, popularly known as Sommie, a beloved Arise News anchor and former beauty queen.

📰 According to NationalUpdate.ng, Sommie reportedly sustained severe injuries after jumping from the second floor of her Katampe home in Abuja while trying to escape armed robbers in the early hours of Monday.

🚨 However, insiders allege that medical negligence played a fatal role — as hospital staff reportedly delayed treatment, demanding a police report first.

💔 Tragically, the delay proved fatal, and the same attack also claimed the life of the residence’s security guard.

Sommie had just returned from the UK after attending her parents’ 30th wedding anniversary.
Arise News described her as “a cherished colleague whose voice engaged and connected with millions.” 🕯️

Yoruba Union Calls on Tinubu to Reclassify Parts of Kwara and Kogi States

The Yoruba Union, Ìgbìnmó Májékóbájé Ilé-Yorùbá, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to exercise his presidential authority to formally remove Kwara State and parts of Kogi State from the classification as “northern states.”

In a statement issued on Sunday and jointly signed by the Convener, Olusola Badero, and the Home Director, Princess Balogun, the group stressed that Kwara South, Kwara Central, and Kogi West are predominantly Yoruba-speaking regions with deep cultural and ancestral ties to the Yoruba nation.

The group argued that continuing to categorise these areas as “northern states” amounts to political and cultural misrepresentation, undermining their identity and leaving them vulnerable to systemic marginalisation.

“These regions are historically Yoruba in language and heritage. Misclassifying them as northern states diminishes their identity and ignores their cultural roots,” the statement read.

The call by the Yoruba Union has sparked renewed discussions on Nigeria’s regional classifications and the historical and cultural identities of its diverse communities.

🔥 Lere Olayinka Accuses Sowore of Funding Son’s Elite US Education Through Questionable Means

Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Adviser on Media to the FCT Minister and former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, has reignited his long-standing feud with activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore.

In a statement shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Olayinka alleged that Sowore is funding his 14-year-old son Komi’s education at one of New Jersey’s most prestigious private schools through “questionable financial practices.”

According to Olayinka, Komi is currently enrolled at the Dwight-Englewood School, a top-tier co-educational institution in Englewood, Bergen County.

He further claimed that:

The school’s annual tuition is about $163,815 (≈ ₦250 million).

A single term reportedly costs $54,605 (≈ ₦85 million) — not including other expenses such as books, boarding, and extracurriculars.

Olayinka’s allegations have sparked heated debate online, with many demanding proof for the claims, while others criticize the statement as an attempt to divert attention from pressing national issues.

🔥 Ismail Omipidan Reveals How El-Rufai Tried to Frustrate Tinubu’s Presidential Bid

Nigerian journalist and author, Ismail Omipidan, has shed light on the political intrigues surrounding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s rise to power.

In a recently shared video, Omipidan recounted how former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai allegedly collaborated with influential figures close to former President Muhammadu Buhari to frustrate Tinubu’s presidential ambition.

Omipidan recalled that El-Rufai had openly declared his dislike for Tinubu and even visited Lagos State with the aim of “teaching the political class how to retire godfathers.”

This revelation comes as El-Rufai, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and other opposition leaders reportedly unite under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to challenge President Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 presidential election.

The development highlights the ongoing shifts and rivalries within Nigeria’s political landscape ahead of 2027.

🚨 Court Rejects Nnamdi Kanu’s Request for Transfer to National Hospital

The Federal High Court in Abuja has refused the plea by detained IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to be moved from the Department of State Services (DSS) custody to the National Hospital for medical treatment.

Justice James Omotosho delivered the ruling on Friday, rejecting the application brought by Kanu’s legal team, which cited serious health concerns.

Lead counsel Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN) argued that Kanu suffers from multiple ailments that the DSS medical unit cannot properly manage. He referenced a report by Prof. Martin Aghaji, a retired professor of medicine, who recommended urgent transfer to the National Hospital and even suggested treatment abroad if needed.

Ikpeazu assured the court that Kanu would not attempt to escape if moved but emphasized that his health required immediate advanced care.

The court, however, ruled that the application lacked sufficient grounds to warrant the transfer at this time.

⚖️ Court to Reassign EFCC’s Money Laundering Suit Against Ex-NNPC GMD Mele Kyari

The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, is set to reassign the money laundering case filed by the EFCC against former NNPC Group Managing Director, Mele Kyari, to a new judge.

This comes after Justice Emeka Nwite, who had been handling the matter as a vacation judge, formally returned the case file to the Chief Judge following the end of the court vacation (late July – September 16, 2025).

Justice Nwite had earlier, on August 19, granted the EFCC’s request to temporarily freeze four accounts in Jaiz Bank linked to Kyari, and fixed September 23 for a compliance report.

The reassignment means a new judge will now take over the high-profile case as proceedings continue.
