2 Igede Girls Among 14 Passengers Kidnapped Along Okene Road, Families Seek Urgent Help
Two Igede girls are among 14 passengers reportedly kidnapped along the Okene road while travelling from Lagos to Benue.

One of the victims, identified as Patience Ede from Igbono, Okwutungbe, Ito, was travelling in a Benue Links bus to attend her grandmother’s burial in Igede. According to reports, the bus was carrying 14 passengers when the driver abandoned the vehicle after encountering the kidnappers.

Following an encounter between vigilantes and the kidnappers, some victims managed to escape, but Patience and three others were reportedly recaptured. Another Igede woman escaped and has since reached the Benue Links park in Otukpo.

Reports indicate that the remaining victims in captivity are mostly women. The kidnappers initially demanded a huge ransom, but negotiations are ongoing as families appeal for support.
