WHAT INTERESTING YOU NOW MAY NOT SEEMS THE FUTURE
There are certain things you cannot see clearly when you are in the heat of youthful energy and pride. In youth, everything seems loud, urgent, and absolute. But as the years go by, your perspective begins to change. You start to look back and realise how unnecessary many of those actions were.
Many people in their youth are driven by strength, emotion, and the need to prove a point. In that season, correction feels like an attack and discipline feels like punishment. You think you know better than everyone else. But time is a master teacher. As you grow, the same things you defended with passion will look like foolishness when viewed through the lens of maturity.
It is often when time has passed that many turn back and whisper, “What have I done?” Opportunities wasted, relationships mishandled, instructions ignored. The arrogance of youth blinds many from seeing the weight of their choices. It is only later that the consequences unveil what was once hidden by excitement.
This is why wise people learn to humble themselves early. They allow the counsel of elders, mentors, and the Word of God to shape their youth. They understand that not everything that looks right now will still look right tomorrow. They submit their energy to wisdom.
Pride is a dangerous veil. It makes you feel invincible until time exposes your vulnerability. Strength is not enough; zeal is not enough. Without wisdom, youthful strength can lead to regrets. That’s why scripture says, “It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.”
When you see older men and women walk with caution, it’s not weakness—it’s experience. They’ve learnt through tears and time. They know that one wrong decision made in haste can take years to correct.
Dear youth, listen now. Don’t let time be your only teacher. Wisdom can shorten your learning curve. Humble yourself to receive counsel. What you ignore in pride today will conf
