JUST IN: MFM suspends vigils nationwide over security concerns

The leadership of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has directed all its branches and ministries across Nigeria to suspend vigils and ensure that all church programmes end by 8:00 pm until further notice, citing prevailing security challenges in the country.

The directive was contained in an internal circular dated June 5, 2026, and signed by the Director of Administration (International Headquarters and Nigeria), Temitope A. Olawale.

According to the circular, the precautionary measures were introduced to safeguard members and church workers amid growing security concerns nationwide.

The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has paid a solidarity and condolence visit to the former Minister of Power and 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, following the brazen abduction of his younger sister and her twin sons.

43 years old Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul were whisked away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, by unknown assailants at Challenge–Elewura area of Ibadan, Oyo state capital.

Reports have it that the victims were intercepted by armed gunmen during a morning school run while driving a wine-colored Hyundai Sonata.

The moment was a shared grief cutting across political lines, with Governor Makinde telling Adelabu, “Brother, sorry. This is the trouble we all find ourselves.”

Shortly after the governor’s arrival, both leaders proceeded into a closed-door meeting.

Observers at the residence noted that the atmosphere reflected a moment of deep concern and solidarity, as Governor Makinde appeared to be offering support and encouragement to the Adelabu family during the challenging period.

Oyo abduction: No schoolchild died in capitivity — Police

The Oyo State Police Command has stated that a report alleging the death of one of the schoolchildren abducted during a recent terrorist attack on three schools in Ahoro-Esienle, Oriire Local Government Area is not only malicious but entirely unfounded.

The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, said in a statement released on Friday.

According to the Command’s PPRO,
the false report was the handiwork of purveyors of misinformation.

The Command categorically states that the report is false, misleading, mischievous, and without any factual basis whatsoever. At no time has the Oyo State Police Command, nor any other recognised security agency involved in the ongoing rescue efforts, confirmed such a development.

The Command wishes to assure members of the public that concerted efforts by security agencies remain ongoing and that all operational activities concerning the incident are being pursued with the utmost professionalism, diligence, and confidentiality.

Insecurity: Oyo Govt restricts commercial motorcycle operations

As Gov signs Executive Order on regulations, enforcement of vehicle registration, traffic management

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has signed into law the Executive Order 002 of 2026, on the Regulations and Enforcement of Vehicle Registration and Traffic Management, thus restricting the operation of commercial motorcycle, otherwise known as Okada, between the hours of 10:30pm and 5:30am daily.

The executive order, Governor Makinde noted, is part of the additional measures being taken by the state to improve security.

While signing the Executive Order in his office on Friday, the governor noted that the move became necessary to strengthen the security architecture of the state and to also ensure the enforcement of vehicle registration, regulations and traffic management in order to better protect lives and properties of the citizens in the state.

JUST IN: ONE OF THE ABDUCTED SCHOOL CHILDREN GONE.

Sadly, one of the abducted schoolchildren kidnapped in Oyo State, Ahoro Esinele, has reportedly died.

Days ago, photos of her in captivity showed she was already seriously ill. Last night, the kidnappers reportedly appeared on a TikTok live stream and announced her death, telling her mother they no longer had her child.

They may not have used a weapon, but captivity killed her. The hunger, beatings, cold nights, fear, and terrible conditions were too much for her young body to survive.

Her heartbroken mother said through tears: “I knew it. She was not very strong. On the day they were abducted, she only managed to go to school. Unfortunately, she never returned home.”

No parent should ever experience the pain of a child leaving for school and never coming back alive.

Another innocent life has been lost. Another family has been shattered.
