THE SCHOOL GHOST
Episode 11 (episode final)
Written by remi the writer

Jerry's anger smoldered as he stormed into ST school hall.

His eyes darted across the faces of students, scanning the entire building in desperate hope.

"Where is Susan?".

He accosted passing students, his voice sharp and urgent.

"Have you seen this lady, that looks this way?".

He demanded, describing her with fervor. Susan, with her chestnut hair that cascaded like a waterfall, her eyes the color of stormy seas, and the faint scar on her left cheek a souvenir from a childhood accident.

The students pointed down the corridor, their expressions wary. "Principal's office," they murmured.

Jerry followed their directions, heart pounding, he pushed open the heavy wooden door to the principal's office, Susan's name echoing in his mind.

Inside, Susan sat composed, her gaze steady as she met his furious eyes.

"What's this?" Jerry snapped, anger boiling over. But Susan blinked her eyes gentle, a silent plea for restraint. She signaled him to reconstruct his behavior.

Principal Thompson cleared his throat, about to continue their conversation, when the room plunged into darkness.

The door creaked shut, and the flickering fluorescent lights played a macabre game of hide-and-seek.

Jerry's breath hitched fear clawed at his chest. What was happening?

Then, as if conjured from the shadows, Richard appeared.

His form was ethereal, clad in ghostly apparel. Beside him stood other phantoms, their eyes hollow yet accusing.

Jerry's sanity teetered on the edge. Was he hallucinating? He tried to hide behind Susan, whispering Richard's name in terror.

Principal Thompson and Susan exchanged bewildered glances.

Only Adanna, the same girl who had visited their doorstep the previous night, remained unfazed. She stood there, eyes wide, as if privy to secrets beyond mortal comprehension.

The room vibrated with unseen energy. Heavy voices echoed in Jerry's ears, urging him to confess. Richard's hollow gaze bore into him.

"Tell them," the ghost whispered, and Jerry's tongue betrayed him.

He confessed, the truth spilling out like blo0d from an open w0und.

Susan's face crumpled as he revealed how he had killed Richard for money rituals.

And then it happened. Richard's confession triggered màdness.

Jerry watched in horror as the ghostly veil lifted.

Susan's tears flowed freely with tears, her son was dead all this while, and she had been living a lie. "My son," she choked out, "My son is dead all this while?"

Susan shook her head, feeling the guilt of Killing her son by the man she loves.

"I will make sure you are locked behind bars " Susan's voice trembled accompanied with tears on her eyes, while calling the police.

Jerry's màdness found its reckoning behind bars, along with the native doctor Jerry had gone to seek wealth from.

As the police led Jerry away with handcuffs.

After the drama of guilt and retribution.

Adanna collapsed to the ground, her eyes wide and unblinking.

Her body quivered, as if caught in the grip of an unseen force. The school hallway buzzed with whispers, students and teachers alike gathering around, their faces etched with concern.

Mr. Thompson, the stern school principal, pushed through the crowd. His graying hair was disheveled, and his eyes held a mix of fear and determination. He knew this was no ordinary force, Adanna was possessed by a ghost.

He sent for Pastor Williams, a man known for his unwavering faith and ability to confront the supernatural. The pastor arrived swiftly, clutching a worn Bible. His gaze fell upon Adanna, and he muttered a prayer under his breath. The air thickened, charged with an otherworldly energy.

Richard, the restless spirit, struggled within Adanna's body. He had been tethered to this earthly plane for too long, seeking solace, seeking closure.

Now, here was another chance a vessel to inhabit, a way to reunite with his living mother.

He fought against Adanna's consciousness, pushing her aside. The memories of his own death haunted him, the sleepless night trying to interact with the living, the pain of not seeing his mother again after crossing to the ghost world.

He yearned for release, for the warmth of his mother's embrace just for the last time.

But Adanna was not an empty vessel. She fought back, her mind a battleground.

She clung to her identity, her essence. Richard's desperation grew. He attempted to bind himself to her forever, to send Adanna's soul into the ghostly abyss.

And then, the unexpected happened. the other ghost intervened. She had once walked the same path as Richard, seeking justice for his tragic death.

She had helped him find the rightfully justice he deserves. uncovering the secrets that bound him to this realm.

Now, they stood beside Adanna, their presence calming. "Adanna," they whispered, his voice echoing through the corridors of Adanna's mind. "she had suffered enough. Let her be."

Richard hesitated. The other ghost was right. Adanna was innocent, caught in the crossfire of his own pain. He had no right to drag her down with him.

After what felt like an eternity, he released his grip on Adanna's soul. The quivering ceased, and her eyes regained their sparkle. The restless spirit seeking justice had left her consciousness, leaving behind a sense of peace.

And in the realms beyond, Richard faded into the mist. His ghost finally met redemption, finding solace in the embrace of the unknown.

Everyone learned the hard way.

Susan covered her eyes, still unable to believe her son had passed on all these days, grief weighed heavy on her heart, a relentless ache that threatened to consume her.

Jerry, once full of bravado, now found himself locked behind cold, unforgiving bars, his willingness for wealth and power had brought had led him down a treacherous path. The price of his actions made him nuts, just like the herbalist had said, and he paid it with every echoing clang of the prison gates.

Esther, who had once reveled in tormenting her peers, now understood that bullying students was not only cruel but also perilous.

The shadows of her past deeds haunted her, whispering reminders of the pain she had inflicted. Redemption seemed elusive, but she vowed to change after regaining her sight.

Except of Amaka, who has a heart of cruelty towards richard meet her Death after bìtten by a spectral snake, the venom had taken its toll on her immediately.

Adanna, who had always hungered for knowledge, seeking answers to life's mysteries, trying to know everything came with a steep cost by the restless spirit of Richard taking refuge within her mind.

His memories merged with hers, blurring the boundaries between sanity and màdness.

In this tangled web of lessons and consequences. Life had etched its scars upon them, leaving no room for innocence.

The hard way was the only way, and they clung to the fragile hope that redemption awaited them.

THE SCHOOL GHOST
Episode 10

Jerry decided to let her be so that she won't get suspicions of any kind and on the other hand, Susan couldn't even believe Jerry's scornful words concerning Richard.

Even with the little clue they got from the student who claimed he was schooling with her, or maybe that's because Richard isn't his biological son.

She just went into their room and closed the door with heavy jerk from the door echoing in the air.

Jerry thought for a while, “what could be done to avoid her from going to St Anthony, "This is really tough,”

He soliloquized and after a while of thinking, he couldn't get an idea of what to do, he had to go to bed too, hoping that the next day would turn out positively for him.

Susan quickly freshened up the next morning, when Jerry wasn't awake yet.

She decided to sneak out of the house to avoid his unnecessary queries and delay.

Her knuckles whitened as she gripped the steering wheel, her pulse racing in sync with the engine's growl.

Jerry's scornfully words replayed in her ears, his speech marked a painful scar inside Susan's heart.

"Richard will return whenever he wants, he's just missing."

"I wonder why men are this heartless, it doesn't matter if the girl's right or wrong,

let's just figure it out if it's true....he might be schooling there, maybe he's adopted, who knows!?".

Susan kept soliloquizing while driving with an anticipation of sobs.

The narrow streets of St. Bishop blurred past, a chaotic dance of brick and asphalt.

Anger fueled her, as she keeps pushing her foot down harder on the gas pedal.

"Am going to prove you wrong, am sure my child his there".

It wasn't a long drive from St bishop to the school.

Susan parked her car at the school yard, her breath hitching.

She walked straight to the principal's office which was noticeable and she knocked at the door before getting a reply from a male matured voice, “come in.”

She got in and went to sit in one of the chairs placed for anyone that came to visit Mr Thompson, the school principal.

“Good morning sir.”

“Good morning, how may I help you?” Mr. Thompson asked, he just finished attaching his signature in a particular document before putting it into his drawer.

“Okay sir, I actually came here to look for a certain boy named Richard,” Susan requested.

“Richard? There are many Richard's in this school, do you know his surname?”

Susan rally words, then gather her wits".....okafor...richard okafor sir".

She retorted, as she dipped her hands inside her bag and brought out Richard's passport, she needed it as a proof,to figure out the particular boy she's looking for.

Mr. Thompson stared at the passport with squinted eyes trying to recall where he saw such face and suddenly he felt a strange tingle in his body that made him change his mind.

“Oh, yes ma'am. he schooled here with us just, not up to a week, but he stopped coming, we don't know his whereabouts, i tried going through his document.

Hoping to find his home address but to no avail".

****
Jerry's eyes snapped open, the room bathed in moonlight. The warmth of Susan's body was conspicuously absent beside him. His heart raced, and he sat up, scanning the room. Where was she?

"Where could she have gone to?" Jerry's mind raced. "I hope it's not what I'm thinking." His instincts told him Susan's curiosity must have piqued to St. Anthony High School.

Without wasting much Time, he swung his legs over the edge of the bed, the cold floor biting into his skin.

With the oblivion of the native doctors warning about the girl, and the spirit of Richard unrestless spirit seeking justice.

Jerry's anger flared, he clenched his fists, while snatching the car keys on the dresser, put on his footwear, his steps echoing through the silent house.

His car engine roared to life, and he sped toward St. Anthony High School.

The deserted streets blurred past. Jerry's knuckles whitened on the steering wheel. The school loomed ahead, its windows dark. He parked haphazardly, adrenaline surging.

Jerry burst through the entrance, the hallway stretching before him.

Susan's name echoed in his mind.

"Where are you, Susan?"....

THE SCHOOL GHOST
Episode 9

Adanna stumbled through the crowded hallway of St. Anthony High School.

Her footsteps were unsteady, she was no longer the quiet, unremarkable girl who blended into the background.

Something had changed, something inexplicable.

Richard's presence lingered, a spectral whisper in corner of her mind. She had never felt so different, so weird.

Adanna could feel his presence, the weight of his past, the burden of his unfinished business. And she was caught in the crossfire.

"Why did you do those things to my friends?" Adanna's inner voice trembled as she addressed richard in her consciousnesses.

"Especially Amaka. The snake attacks in your bag, esther's blindness?".

Richard's response echoed through her psyche.

“They deserved it,” Richard replied, bitterness tainting his words.

“They needed to learn. i heard your discussions with your friends, how you guys had planned to frame me".

"Amaka's cruel plans, it reminded me of Jerry."

Adanna frowned on the hallway, while appearing to soliloquize.

"Jerry? Who he's Jerry?".

"My stepfather," Richard replied. ".

"My mom pursued her career for a business contract, leaving me behind with him, I was sleeping, and then suddenly,

I saw myself lying l!feless on the couch.

Jerry stood over me, a hoe in his hand.

My h@ad was severed, right there in front of me. I thought it was a nightmare, but it wasn't. That's how I became a ghost."

Adanna sign. "That's quite sad".

"i would be alive, if not because Jerry took my life for the sake of wealth".

Richard's voice grew colder and savage through adanna's eardrums.

"I wondered aimlessly trying to interact with people on the streets, but to no avail, not until I saw other ghosts like me, who had been d£ad for a long time".

"They granted me the ability to appear living for a week.

But I can't maintain it for too long. So I merged myself inside you.

“Adanna,” Richard’s voice echoed in her mind, “you’re my vessel now. My conduit to the living world.”

Adanna clutched her textbooks, glancing around nervously.

No one else heard Richard’s voice, but she did. His consciousness seeped into hers, coloring her thoughts, altering her perceptions. She wondered if she was going m@d.

Adanna leaned against the lockers, her heart racing.

Richard’s emotions surged through her, the anger, the frustration, the longing for justice.

She saw his tear-streaked nights when richard wondered around seeking help as a ghost in the streets, praying for a way to save his mother from Jerry's hands.

“But why me?” Adanna asked. “Why inhabit my body?”

“Because you’re different,” Richard said.

“Your heart is pure. I sensed it when I merged with you. You won’t misuse my power. Together, we can right the wrongs.”

And so, the girl with a ghost inside her walked into St. Anthony High School, her steps echoing with the weight of two souls one seeking justice, the other redemption.

The teachers and students sensed the change in adanna's behavior .

The haunted look in her eyes.

Richard’s absence at school didn’t go unnoticed either.

The teachers wondered if he wasn't longer schooling after his encounter with esther.

The News about his sudden disappearance spread like wildfire, unaware that he was right in front of them, within Adanna.......

THE SCHOOL GHOST
Episode 8

~FLASHBACK CONTINUES~

The native doctor's words keeps replaying on Jerry's mind like a CD player.

"There's no backing off, you must do it

Otherwise.........you might not witness tomorrow's sunrise, Choose wisely."

"What did he meant by not witnessing tomorrow's sunrise?". Jerry soliloquize while he keeps biting his fingers absentmindedly.

"My friends are right, I can't keep babysitting a ba$tards child playing the role of a good husband, I need to live my life ".

He said those words, causing a mild creaked from the door.

As he entered the house, the whole living room was dark.

"Why is everywhere dark? but the power supply had been restored?" his thumb located where the switch was, the bulb revealing little Richard who was fast asleep on the couch.

Immediately he saw richard sleeping, his heart began to beat, thinking it might bur$t at any moment.

"This is my chance". a loud voice ponder from his head "I can't remain poor for the rest of my life".

Without much hesitation, he headed to the store, drew a hoe, with a sack placed on Richards head, with a toss of the hoe, it sliced through his n£ck.

"The one who seeks wealth, you're back? the native doctor retorted.

Jerry nodded his head, he had already accepted his fate. "He's not my blood, he's my stepson, after all."

The native doctor cracked dev!lishly while he beckoned Jerry inside.

The room was dimly lit, shelves lined with dried herbs, animal skulls, and mysterious artifacts.

"Bring me Richard's h@ad," the native doctor commanded. "Place it here."

Jerry's trembling hands gripped the sack. While unwrapping the dreadful content.

Jerry's pulse raced as he stepped back, the room closing in on him.

The native doctor circled the h£ad, chanting in a language Jerry couldn't comprehend.

Smoke rose from incense, twisting like serpents. The room hummed with energy, a malevolent force that clawed at Jerry's sanity while glancing simultaneous at the native doctor appeasing the dirty dolls hanged around the chambers.

The native doctor's eyes gleamed.

"This lad is fully d£ad, and you know that?" he intoned. "But his spirit will seek wealth for you across the entire world.

You are bound now, Jerry. The pact is sealed."

"Go," the native doctor said, his £vil laughs anticipate with the glee on his face. "Your journey begins."

Jerry stepped outside the native doctors hut, the moon smirked at him, while retracing his steps back home.

~PRESENT DAY~

The phone pressed against Jerry's ears, has he listened intently to the native doctor's raspy voice on the other end.

"Listen carefully," the herbalist warned, his words laden with ancient wisdom.

"That girl who came to your doorstep today, the one who claims Richard is alive? You must avoid her at all costs. Richard's soul is restless, and any contact with him could unleash a malevolent force."

Jerry swallowed hard, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.

"But I k!lled Richard," he stammered. "I followed your instructions to the letter. The ritual was supposed to grant me wealth and power."

The herbalist's laughter echoed through the phone. "Fo0l!sh creature" he hissed.

"You think you can control the forces beyond life and death? Richard's spirit has returned, seeking v£ngeance.

You must not speak his name, nor acknowledge his existence. Do you understand?"

Richard's stepfather nodded, even though the room seemed to spin around him.

He cut the call, glancing at the framed photograph on the mantelpiece a young man with a mischievous smile, Richard, his stepson, whom he had s@crificed for wealth.

As if sensing his thoughts, Susan, his wife, entered the room.

Her eyes were red-rimmed, tears trickled down her cheeks.

"What's going on, Jerry?" she asked, her voice trembling.

" That girl claims my son is schooling .... what's the name? ....St Anthony, how possible could that be? was he adopted? the police and private investigators already search for him?".

Jerry's hesitated, torn between loyalty to the herbalist and the love he still harbored for Susan.

"She's just a confused student," he replied, trying to sound casual. "Probably lost her way. Nothing to worry about."

Susan crossed her arms, her gaze piercing. "Jerry, it's been two years since Richard disappeared," she said softly,

"I've waited, hoped, and prayed. But this girl, I think she might be right? let's go to St Anthony, he might be there..".

Jerry clenched his phone with anger.

"Susan," he began, "the girl is a nuisance, She's just playing tricks on people's doorsteps, don't tell me you believe such nonsense from a lass?

Richard will return whenever he wants , he's just missing."

Susan's eyes narrowed. "Am not believing anyone I just wanted to confirm if it was really our son".

Jerry's heart raced. "Susan, please," he pleaded. "Don't mind that girl, she's just joking around".

Susan moved closer to him, her voice unwavering. she declared.

"if only you love him like your biological son, he won't be missing, you would have keep an eye on him, anyways I'll find my son, With or without you".

"But wealth demands sacrifice". he said.

Jerry's heart pounded. "I'll do anything". he restored. "Anything".

The native doctor's laughter echoed through the moonlit clearing.

"This wealth is yours alone. But heed my terms."

"Tell me," Jerry urged.

"You will be Rich beyond your imagination ". the native doctor said.

"You need a teenager's head to start the rituals, secondly, this newfound fortune, and m@dness will claim you if a third party knew of this.

Jerry's mind raced for such request from the unrighteous wealth.

"What if I refuse?" Jerry asked.

The native doctor send million daggèrs into his eyes piercing his s0ul.
