What would you do if your husband kidnapped your children and took them abroad? 😢

That’s the heart-wrenching story behind a 5-part series, “No One Saw Us Leave” now streaming on Netflix.

Based on a true story from 1968, it follows a young mum whose children were taken away after her husband discovers her affair with his brother. Her three-year search across countries exposes the stigma, pain, and judgment women face when motherhood, marriage, and society collide.

It’s emotional, intense, and thought-provoking and a must-watch for every parent. 💔

Have you seen it yet? No spoilers please😁

😁I told a newly married bride who asked me what the most challenging part of marriage is. I told her, “It’s when the wedding dress goes off”.

You know why? We pour so much into the ceremony and forget the marriage in and of itself. Guess where you’re going to spend the rest of your life?

Outside a wedding dress!
It’s the same way we compare our homes and lives to people we see online. You see this when comparing your marriage and life with anyone you see online.

These are curated pictures and videos that the owner intentionally posts to share what they want. Stop looking so hard and enjoy your life.

You don’t know what happens when the cameras go off and when the Instagrammable homes are no longer in our view!

Please, even if plastic chairs are in your house, value them! Keep your peace! Let her with ears hear now!

This kin list fit ruffle feathers oo 😂

Mums, from your experience, which part of Lagos actually makes parenting a little easier (or at least less stressful)? 👇🏽

I'm talking good schools, quality hospitals, affordable markets, supermarkets, etc

Abeg, be honest… but peaceful oh 😅

1) Teach her how to start a generator and power her house if she needs to.
2) Teach her to change a bulb and fix a plug.
3) Teach her to earn, save, and negotiate her worth.
4) Teach her to speak up even when her voice trembles.
5) Teach her that “no” is a complete sentence and she is allowed to say just that.
6) Teach her to value rest as much as results.
7) Teach her to love her body, even when it changes.
8) Teach her that peace is better than popularity.
9) Teach her to think before following the crowd.
10) Teach her to choose friends who value her essence and not just to ‘belong’.
11) Teach her to protect her space, online and offline.
12) Teach her to lead with empathy and firmness.
13) Teach her that there is more than enough love at home.
14) Teach her that she can always come home no matter what!

Mamas, which of these 14 lessons are you already teaching your daughter?
Or which one are you adding to your list after reading this?

😔 Grief is hard, and sympathising with people on losing their loved one is always more challenging the very 1st time you do it, especially if you have not lost anybody close to your own.

Sometimes, you’d even be trying to commiserate with them, and they’ll look at you thinking, ‘but you have not lost anyone close before, so how dare you think that you understand how I feel?’

These are some thoughtful things that you can do that will also help you navigate that first call or visit that you will make very soon.

Do share! Is there anything you did when someone lost a significant other, child or parent that they also told you was thoughtful? Let’s help each other through tough times.

“A partner who doesn’t dream like you isn’t always the problem sometimes, you are, for trying to drag them into a life they never wanted.”

This thread hits hard.👇🏽

Not everyone wants “global domination.”Some people genuinely just want:Love, Peace, a simple life & Sunday rice & laughter with their family.

You can love someone deeply and still be misaligned. You can be adored but emotionally incompatible. You can build your dream life… and destroy your relationship in the process.

Moral of the story?
May we stop dragging, fixing, and imposing.
May we choose partners whose inner rhythm matches ours & not ones we’ll have to dim or drag.

Date or marry someone who doesn’t just love you… but lives life at your frequency.

Pls share your thoughts & tag someone who gets it!
