The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Anambra State, Jude Ezenwafor has disclosed that his entry into the 2025 governorship race was inspired by what he describes as a divine revelation.
In an interview with Arise News, Ezenwafor recounted a dream he had before picking up his party’s nomination form, saying it gave him the assurance to contest. “The dream I have for Anambra State. I heard a clear voice saying, ‘Jude, go and pick this form, you will not have any challenge. I went to the party, no hassle. I paid only that I pleaded that I don't want to do primaries because primaries destroys party’” he revealed.
According to him, the message in the dream strengthened his resolve and convinced him that his ambition was not merely a political decision but a calling to serve. He said the experience left him with a deep sense of purpose, motivating him to face the contest with confidence despite the uncertainties of the political terrain.
Ezenwafor outlined his vision for the state, promising to focus on economic transformation, infrastructure renewal, and improved security if elected. He stressed that Anambra needs leadership rooted in service, integrity and compassion for the people.
Speaking on the fierce competition ahead of the polls, the PDP candidate expressed optimism, insisting that no obstacle could derail what he believes to be a divine mandate. “A divine mandate cannot be stopped by human hands,” he declared.
He also appealed to other contenders to embrace peaceful and issue-based campaigns, warning that violence has no place in a democratic process.
With political activities intensifying ahead of the governorship election, Ezenwafor’s revelation has stirred discussions among observers, with some interpreting it as a sign of unwavering faith, while others see it as a strategic attempt to connect with voters on a spiritual and emotional level.
