Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Samu Aghehowa from FC Porto in the coming months.

Chelsea are interested in securing a signature as well, and the two London clubs are currently in the lead as per reports via SportWitness.

It will be interesting to see if either of them can sign the 21-year-old striker in the coming months. He is a talented player with a bright future, and he could develop into a top-class Premier League goal scorer with the right guidance. He has already found the back of the net 11 times in 14 matches this season. He has shown his quality with Porto last season as well.

Spurs could use Samu Aghehowa

Tottenham are in desperate need of another quality goal scorer, and the Spanish striker would be ideal for them. He could compete with Dominic Solanke for the starting spot. The England International has not been able to find the back of the net regularly.

More competition for places will help them improve as a team and fight for major trophies.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have already invested in two strikers, and it would be quite surprising if they decided to make a move for Aghehowa. It seems that Tottenham might have an advantage in the race. The striker will want to join a club where he will play regularly, and he will be reluctant to move to Chelsea, where there are two strikers ahead of him in the pecking order.

The report claims that €80 million (£70m) could get the deal done, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to pay. They have the resources to get the deal across the line.

Aghehowa is a young player with a bright future, and he could end up justifying the outlay in future.

Chelsea's Joao Pedro to take Moises Caicedo out for dinner after ending goal drought

João Pedro has promised to take Chelsea team-mate Moses Caicedo out for dinner after he helped end his nine-game goal drought in Saturday's 1-0 victory at Tottenham.

Summer recruit Pedro started life at Stamford Bridge with two goals in his first three Premier League games, but had failed to find the net since August before his 34th-minute winner in north London.

Pedro, who was thwarted on three other occasions by Spurs goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, was indebted to Caicedo after he won back possession from Micky van de Ven and teed up the Chelsea forward to fire home.

Caicedo was later described as two of the best defensive midfielders in the world by boss Enzo Maresca along with Manchester City's Rodri.

Brazil attacker Pedro echoed that sentiment and reflected on the importance of his goal in a period where he has struggled to train due to unspecified fitness problems.

"Moses, everyone knows is a top, top player," Pedro said.

"It is a pleasure to play with him and when he pass to me on the pitch, in the half-time I said I need to invite you to dinner, so yeah I just want to say thank you to him.

"Thanks to the team for the support. I scored but I still need to improve. I had a lot of chances, but we won the game.

"I think I needed this goal after a long time I don't score for Chelsea and I think the team expect (goals) from me, so I just want to say thank you to Moses, thank you to the team and now we need to enjoy this victory."

Chelsea's fifth straight win at Tottenham helped them bounce back from a shock 2-1 home defeat to Sunderland on October 25.

It helped rebuild momentum for Maresca's talented but youthful squad ahead of a midweek trip to Qarabag in the Champions League and Saturday's visit of bottom-of-the-table Wolves.

Pedro added: "I think it was a big game, a derby and we know they are a good team.

"We knew we had to do 100 per cent to win this kind of game and we did. We won the game and now we need to look forward.

‎📌 Chelsea vs Tottenham FT thoughts:

‎🔹Maresca — Got it tactically spot on today, made big calls with Gusto in the team for pressing purposes (man for man with fullback jumping high), limiting Spurs to 0.10 xG whilst generating 3.0 of our own… HUGE win so give him credit!

‎🔹Wesley Fofana — 6/6 aerial duels won, aggressive and looking to make that FIRST contact, 3/7 ground duels won too with 6 recoveries — got caught under the ball once or twice, but as I said yesterday, his intent is needed in this team to bring physicality

‎🔹Midfield three — Moi was unbelievable as ever, but Reece & Enzo were brilliant in there too, winning their duels, setting the tempo, brilliant 👏

‎🔹Subs — My one gripe was the late sub for Neto, he was flagging at around 60 mins there, I do think his trust for players OOP is a huge factor, especially in a game where momentum can swing so quickly, so in that sense I understand the hesitancy, but Neto was flagging to the point it was needed

‎So many of my other points from halftime should be echoed too, Sanchez SO important claiming balls into the box, Joao Pedro with a hugely important goal (should’ve had another atleast) and I enjoyed the long throw counters attempted
