On the occasion of his posthumous birthday, the Mayor of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Amaka Obi (Iyom Ife-Abata), lovingly remembers her late cousin and brother, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah(Ebubechukwuzo).

For Hon. Amaka Obi, today is more than a birthday remembrance. It is a moment to celebrate a life that made a difference, a brother whose presence meant so much to his family, friends and the countless people whose lives he touched.

She described the late Senator as a man of courage, generosity, determination and uncommon resilience, whose footprints remain indelible in the sands of time.

In her heartfelt tribute, she said:

“Ebubechukwuzo, your absence still hurts. There are moments I wish you were here — to laugh with us, to share those familiar moments and to simply be around as you always were. But today, I choose to remember you with gratitude rather than tears alone.

You lived a life that mattered. You touched lives, gave hope to many and created memories that time cannot erase. Though you are no longer with us physically, your name, your works and the memories you left behind continue to speak.

Happy posthumous birthday, my dear cousin and brother. You are deeply missed, forever remembered and eternally loved. May your soul continue to rest peacefully in the bosom of the Lord.”

As family, friends and well-wishers remember Senator Ifeanyi Ubah today, Hon. Amaka Obi joins them in celebrating the life, memories and enduring legacy of a man who may be gone from sight, but can never be forgotten.

The Mayor of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Amaka Obi (Iyom Ife-Abata), has joined family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers to celebrate the Managing Director of the Anambra State Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA), Dr. Ossy Onuko (IfeIgbo), as he marks his birthday.

Celebrating the celebrant, Mayor Amaka Obi described Dr. Onuko as a man whose passion for service is evident in the work he does and the lives he touches.

She noted that his dedication, energy and commitment to the transformation of Anambra State have continued to earn him the respect and goodwill of Ndi Anambra.

FROM SKILLS TO LIVELIHOODS: AMAKA OBI EMPOWERS 6TH BATCH, ENTRUSTS FUTURE TO ILOGBENU

It was a moment of joy, gratitude and renewed hope in Idemili South as the Mayor of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Amaka Obi (Iyom Ife-Abata), empowered beneficiaries of the 6th Batch of the Skill Acquisition Programme, providing them with the tools and support needed to move from learning skills to building livelihoods.

The empowerment exercise marked another significant step in the administration’s commitment to equipping residents with practical skills and the means to become economically productive, self-reliant and capable of supporting their families.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Amaka Obi expressed deep appreciation to the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, and his wife, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo, for giving her the opportunity to serve the good people of Idemili South.

She described the opportunity to serve as both an honour and a responsibility, stressing that her administration has remained focused on touching lives, empowering families and creating opportunities that can translate into lasting economic impact.

For her, skill acquisition is not meant to end with a certificate or training. The real goal is to ensure that beneficiaries can take what they have learned, turn it into a source of income, build sustainable businesses and improve the quality of life of their families.

In a remarkable show of confidence in the future of Idemili South, Hon. Amaka Obi also spoke warmly about her successor, the Mayor-elect, Hon. Oluchukwu Ilogbenu, declaring:

“The Mayor-elect will perform better than me.”

The declaration reflected her belief that the work of leadership should not end with one administration, but should provide a solid foundation for the next administration to build upon.

Hon. Amaka Obi expressed confidence that Hon. Oluchukwu Ilogbenu will consolidate on the achievements already recorded, bring fresh ideas and take the people-oriented programmes of Idemili South to greater heights.

MOTHER OF ALL EMPOWERMENT: MAYOR AMAKA OBI TURNS SKILLS INTO LIVELIHOODS, EMPOWERS IDEMILI SOUTH RESIDENTS

There were smiles, excitement and heartfelt appreciation across Idemili South as the Mayor of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Amaka Obi (Iyom Ife-Abata), delivered a major boost to residents through the “Mother of All Empowerment” programme.

The empowerment was particularly significant for residents who participated in the council’s skill acquisition training programme. Rather than leaving beneficiaries with certificates and skills alone, Mayor Amaka Obi went a step further by providing them with the tools they need to put their skills to work.

Beneficiaries received ovens, sewing machines, motorcycles, shuttle buses and other equipment to enable them to start or strengthen their businesses and become financially independent.

For the newly trained bakers, the ovens represented a chance to begin production. For the fashion designers, the sewing machines meant an opportunity to turn their creativity into income. For other beneficiaries, the motorcycles, shuttle buses and other equipment provided practical means of earning a living.

It was therefore a moment of genuine joy as beneficiaries received the items, knowing that the skills they had acquired now had the necessary equipment to become real businesses and sustainable sources of income.

Speaking at the event, Anambra State First Lady, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo, warmly appreciated Hon. Amaka Obi for her commitment to the people. She described the Mayor as a “naked wire,” in recognition of her energetic, active and tireless approach to leadership and service.

Dr. Mrs. Soludo commended the empowerment initiative, particularly the decision to equip those who had undergone skill acquisition training, noting that such support gives people the opportunity to become productive and self-reliant.

For Mayor Amaka Obi, the philosophy behind the initiative is simple: teach people a skill, give them the tools and create an opportunity for them to succeed.

She encouraged all beneficiaries to make the best use of the items given to them, urging them to see the empowerment not simply as a gift, but as a responsibility and an opportunity to build a better future for themselves and their families.

The event also became a strong demonstration of support for the Mayor’s grassroots-focused administration, as government officials, party leaders, stakeholders, beneficiaries and residents gathered to celebrate an initiative centred on the welfare of the people.

Present at the event were the APGA State Chairman, Chief Ifeatu Obi-Okoye; APGA candidate for Idemili North/South Federal Constituency, Chief Ikenna Iyiegbu (Onyechimelu’eze); Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike; Commissioner for Youth; Hon. Deputy Mayor, Hon. Ifeanyi; and Mayoral Candidate, Hon. Oluchukwu Ilogbenu, alongside other stakeholders, party executives, community leaders and residents.

The Mayor of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Amaka Obi (Iyom Ife-Abata), has joined family, friends, associates and well-wishers across Anambra State in celebrating the APGA candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Hon. Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo (Onye Ndozi), as he marks his 51st birthday.

In a birthday message made available through her media office, Hon. Amaka Obi described Hon. Nwankwo as a man of courage, experience and proven leadership, whose journey in public service has been characterised by dedication, resilience and a genuine commitment to the progress and wellbeing of his people.

COUNCIL ELECTION: IDEMILI SOUTH CAMPAIGN TEAM KICKS OFF WARD TOUR IN AWKA-ETITI

The Idemili South Council Election Campaign Team has officially commenced its ward-to-ward tour, beginning with Awka-Etiti, as part of its grassroots mobilisation efforts and commitment to taking the message of development, effective leadership, and people-oriented governance directly to the people.

Speaking during the tour, the Mayor of Idemili South, Hon. Mrs. Amaka Obi, declared that APGA remains the hope of the common man, and urged residents to come out in their numbers and vote massively for APGA on 29th August.

On his part, the Mayoral Candidate, Hon. Oluchukwu Ilogbenu, assured the people of Idemili South that, if elected, he would work diligently to exceed expectations and deliver purposeful leadership that would positively impact the lives of the people.

In their separate remarks, Barr. Ebuka Igwe, Chief Emeka Ezeoke, and Chief Kizito Anoliefo reaffirmed their support for the party, stressing that APGA is our identity and calling on the people to remain united in support of the party.

The campaign team engaged extensively with residents, party faithful, community leaders, women, youths, and other stakeholders, presenting its vision for a stronger, more united, developed, and prosperous Idemili South.

The Awka-Etiti ward tour marks the beginning of a wider mobilisation exercise across the Local Government Area, as the campaign team continues to take its message to every community and ward, seeking the support and active participation of the people ahead of the council election.
