🚨 BREAKING: TROOPS RESCUE 17 KIDNAP VICTIMS, INCLUDING 4 CHILDREN, IN KOGI

A major security breakthrough has been recorded in Kogi State as troops of the Nigerian Army’s 12 Brigade, alongside hybrid forces and local vigilantes, successfully rescued 17 kidnapped victims, including four children.

The victims were reportedly travelling by bus from Osun State to Abuja when kidnappers intercepted them along the Obajana–Lokoja Road near Opamaru Village.

Following credible intelligence, troops swiftly mobilised, discovered the abandoned bus and tracked the kidnappers to Wuro Village in Adavi LGA.

A gun battle reportedly followed, forcing the kidnappers to flee into the bush with gunshot wounds, abandoning their victims behind.

🙏 All 17 victims were rescued and immediately taken to the 12 Brigade Medical Centre, where they received first aid and were stabilised.

This operation highlights the importance of timely intelligence and cooperation between security agencies and local communities in the fight against kidnapping and other criminal activities.

👏 Kudos to the gallant troops and everyone who contributed to the rescue operation.

Ahmed Usman Ododo, Governor of Kogi State, today hosts the 30th Conference of Auditors-General of Local Government/Area Councils in Nigeria through the Office of the Auditor-General for Local Government, Kogi State.
