Amanah (Trust) in Islam
Amanah is a great character in Islam and one of the signs of a true believer.
Allah says:
“Indeed, Allah commands you to return trusts to their rightful owners.” (Qur’an 4:58)
Amanah is not only about keeping money or property. It also includes keeping secrets, fulfilling promises, being honest, and carrying out responsibilities sincerely.
The Prophet ﷺ also said:
“The one who does not keep trust has no faith.”
Every one of us will be questioned by Allah about the trust placed in our hands—at home, at work, at school, and in society.
Let us hold firmly to Amanah, because through it societies rise, and when it is lost, corruption spreads.
