JUST IN: Kogi Police Rescue 15 K!dnap Victims After Gün Bãttle, Several Abductørs Neutralised

The Kogi State Police Command has rescued 15 victims ābducted along the Itobe–Anyigba Highway in Ofu Local Government Area following a fierce gun battle with their abductørs.

The incident occurred at about 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2026, between Ojuwo Ajengo and Mamerebo, a known k!dnapping flashpoint along the Itobe–Achigili axis of the highway.

TEAM ANTIDOTE PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO YAHAYA BELLO, UNVEILS 2027 PLANS

Members of TEAM ANTIDOTE on Sunday paid a courtesy visit to the former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, to formally introduce the organization and present its roadmap ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting, held in Abuja, was centered on unity, grassroots mobilization, and issue-based politics in Kogi Central Senatorial District.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the Convener and Founder of TEAM ANTIDOTE, Mrs. Zubeida Yakubu, formally informed the former Governor that TEAM ANTIDOTE has endorsed him for the Senate seat representing the good people of Kogi Central in 2027.

In her address, Zubeida described Alhaji Yahaya Bello as an uncommon leader who dared to change the narrative of Kogi State.

"He is a leader who brought unity where there was division, healing where there was pain, and progress where there was stagnation. That is why in TEAM ANTIDOTE, we call you THE ANTIDOTE," she said.

She further briefed the former Governor on the group’s upcoming activities, including door-to-door campaigns, PVC mobilization, youth engagement, and issue-based sensitization across the five LGAs of Kogi Central.

In his response, the Supreme Leader of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, expressed delight at receiving the group. He welcomed their vision and pledged to guide them in discharging their responsibilities.

He commended TEAM ANTIDOTE for its work so far in sensitization, mobilization, and empowerment, and formally adopted the group as part of the broader movement for Kogi Central’s progress.

"Be law-abiding. Spread the message of hope, peace, and progress. Unite our people. Politics should bring us together, not divide us," Bello charged.

Also present at the meeting was Pharm. Jamiu Abdulkareem Asuku, former Chief of Staff to the Kogi State Governor.

Pharm. Asuku expressed delight at seeing young people coming together for selfless service. He urged the group to intensify efforts in sensitizing the people of Kogi Central about the legacies of Alhaji Yahaya Bello, particularly his exemplary leadership in restoring peace and order to the zone compared to what was obtainable before 2015.

TEAM ANTIDOTE reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots mobilization and to ensuring that Kogi Central speaks with one voice in 2027.
