SAINT JOHN OF KANTY

Saint John of Kanty (1390-1473) was born in
Kanty, Poland, and became a priest and professor
at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
Known for his scholarship, piety, and simplicity,
he taught theology while lliving a life of
poverty and service John devoted himself
to the poor, offering food, alms, and spiritual
guidance. Renowned for hiis humility and
charitable works, he balanced academic rigor
with deep spiritual devotion. Ganonized in 1767,
his feast on December 23 celebrates holiness
expressed through teaching, scholarship, and
service to the needy, encouraging Christians
to integrate intellectual pursuits with acts of
charity and virtue.
