Sad news as popular Nigerian actor Alex Ekubo has reportedly passed away at the age of 41 after battling cancer.😭

According to family sources, he died on Monday, May 11, after quietly fighting the illness for some time.

Many fans had earlier expressed concern over his absence from social media, as he had stayed offline for months. His last social media post was made in December 2024.

Alex Ekubo was widely admired for his talent, versatility in movies, and charming personality.

May his soul rest in peace. Amen.🙏 💔😭

After pleading guilty to the charges against him, the court has sentenced Akwa OkuKu Tiwara Aki to 11 months imprisonment.

The court judgment also came with the following obligations.

1. He will become an Ambassador for youth re-orientation
2. ⁠His oba Shrine to be destroyed
3. ⁠He will no longer practice Okeite and won’t administer such charms.
4. ⁠Upon completion of his imprisonment, he will make public statement denouncing Okeite and such charm practices
5. ⁠He will serve his imprisonment at Awka Correctional Center.

Is the punishment fair or not??

Bet9ja offices have been SEALED, the Enugu State Government moves hard against the betting company over alleged violations of the state’s gaming and lottery laws.

According to reports, the shutdown was carried out by the Enugu State Gaming and Lotto Commission following a court order, after Bet9ja reportedly failed to meet regulatory and licensing requirements.

This action affects ALL Bet9ja operations within Enugu State... no business, no betting, no negotiations...

Outcome Of Governor Soludo’s Meeting With Onitsha Main Market Traders Today

I understand that this is the outcome of the meeting with main market leaders and Governor Charles Soludo today.

I was waiting for an official announcement but I didn’t see any. I copied this from Anambra -focused pages.

1. Security will be provided every Monday

2. Attendance will be taken at every line. If you fail to come on Monday, your shop will be revoked.

3. Government will demolish main market and will rebuild it in 2 years

4. All illegal structures in the market will be demolished

5. Widening of Young street to accommodate car park.

The traders must choose between these 2 options;

(1) To either level the market and build another within two years

or

(2) Resume trading on Mondays, mark attendance, regenerate the market, demolish illegal structures and Plazas; there will be spaces and car parks.

Given the autonomy of shop owners in managing their businesses, including rental agreements and inventory, they should decide when to open. This approach underscores the importance of individual choice in business operations, free from compulsory directives.

The police are right in asserting that businesses cannot be forced to open against their will. It's about respecting individual rights in business not about Biafra or Nigeria.
