4 SIMPLE TIPS TO HELP YOUR STAFF STAY IF YOU OWN A SCHOOL

This is a common problem for your sector, and I'll tell you why.
Money and dignity.

Money, because they need to survive, take care of themselves and their families. Dignity, because the teaching profession isn't respected the way it should be.

Teachers (especially in Nigeria) are not respected in society, yet we expect them to raise the next generation.

Here's what I suggest.
1. Help your staff enjoy their jobs, and enjoy life. Make the work environment fun. Organize events that build a community. Things like bringing your child to work day, employee family get together, etc.

2. Treat all your teachers with respect. Call them respectable names. Give them befitting titles. Make them personal brands and stars. Celebrate them. Organize events and make sure the parents appreciate and celebrate them.

3. Pay them well, and give them benefits.
How can you pay a teacher N20,000? How will this person focus on teaching the kids? Pay your teachers well, and add bonuses. EG: Bag of rice, plus tin tomatoes etc for them to share every term will make you a rock star to them.

(Side note, if you say you can't afford it, then it means you aren't doing effective marketing for your school, which should be your primary responsibility as a school owner).

4. Train them consistently.
You must invest in them, train them. Give them training on life, parenting, financial planning, investing etc, things that will be useful to them, alongside training that is useful for them on the job.

Do things like these, and only people who have village people on their case will leave your school.

RETURN BACK ❌❌

Many people say "return back" but this is incorrect.

Don't say: I will return back next week. ❌
Say: I will return next week. ✅

Why?

The verb "return" already means "go back", so adding "back" is unnecessary.

🔹 Simply use "return" without "back."

More Examples:
*She returned home after the trip. ✅
* Please return the book to the library. ✅
*He will return to work on Monday. ✅

Tip: Never say "return back" Just say "return"
