I stand today with a heavy heart and a determined spirit to condemn the killing in Benue State. Our state has been witnessing disturbing and unacceptable levels of insecurity—killings, kidnappings, and violence that have stolen the peace of our communities and the lives of too many innocent people.

Let me be clear: this is not just a statistic. Behind every act of killing is a grieving family, a disrupted home, and a community plunged into fear. This cannot and will not continue.

Insecurity cannot be solved by government alone. We will work with traditional rulers, religious leaders, our able and vibrant youths to profer lasting solutions that will promote peace, resolve conflicts, and create safer neighborhoods.

We must address poverty, unemployment, and lack of education, which often breed crime and violence. Our economic and social development programs will target the most affected communities in future

This fight is not easy, and it will not be won overnight. But with unity, courage, and the collective will of our people, we will overcome. We must never get used to killing or let fear divide us.

I call on every Agatu/ APA citizen—this is our fight. If you see something, say something. If you can help, do so. Together, let us reclaim our land, our communities, our peace, and our future.
