Discussion Topic: Is Content Creation Robbing People of Common Sense?
In a world where almost everybody has a smartphone and social media has become a major part of our everyday lives, content creation has become more than just entertainment. For many people, it is now a career, a business and a source of income. But with the monetization of social media, we are beginning to see a different side of content creation.
People are sometimes willing to do almost anything for views, likes, followers and money. Dangerous stunts, unnecessary drama, public embarrassment, oversharing of private matters and even recording emergencies instead of helping have become common examples of the things people may do in the name of creating content.
And this raises a very important question:Has the desire to create viral content started affecting people's judgement? Are people now asking, “Will this get views?” before asking, “Is this sensible?”
Is content creation robbing people of common sense, or are people simply doing foolish things and hiding behind the excuse of “it's content”?
