ANAMBRA KINGS, WHY? 🤔

The First Lady of Nigeria recently visited Anambra State and was honoured with the traditional title “Osodieme One.”

Let me make this clear: I am not against the title or the honour given to her. Traditional institutions and titles deserve respect.

But what caught my attention was seeing the traditional rulers take three-hand chicks from the First Lady, who is a woman.

My question is simple: Is this actually in accordance with Anambra traditional customs?

If our traditions have rules concerning how certain things are done, especially between traditional rulers and women, when did we begin changing those practices?

Tradition is important, but so is knowing and preserving the meaning behind our traditions.

So, Anambra kings, why? 🤔
