Never forget that Ojukwu did not declare Biafra out of ambition, pride, or hatred. He stood up because the blood of innocent Igbos was flowing in the streets. Thousands were brutally killed across Northern Nigeria and parts of the West. Fathers were slaughtered, mothers were widowed, children became orphans overnight, and families were forced to run for their lives with nothing but fear and tears.

When the world looked away, Ojukwu chose to stand for a helpless people. He chose courage over silence. To many Biafrans, the war was never about conquest, it was about survival, dignity, and the right of Ndigbo to live without fear of extermination.

Biafrans fought with empty stomachs, with pain in their hearts, and with courage that history can never erase. They fought to protect their land, their families, and their identity.
