Signs You’re Dealing With a Narcissist
At first, they feel magnetic. Charming. Confident. Almost too good to be true.
But over time, something starts to feel off—and you can’t quite explain why.
Here are some common signs you may be dealing with a narcissist:
1• Everything revolves around them
Your feelings, needs, and experiences always come second. Conversations somehow circle back to their pain, their success, their struggles—every time.
2• They lack real empathy
They may say the “right” words, but when you’re truly hurting, they seem cold, dismissive, or irritated. Your pain is an inconvenience to them.
3• They twist the truth (gaslighting)
They deny things they clearly said or did. You start questioning your memory, your emotions, even your sanity—while they stay calm and confident.
4• Constant need for admiration
Praise feeds them. Attention fuels them. When they don’t get it, they become distant, angry, or manipulative.
5• They play the victim
No matter what happens, they are never wrong. Somehow, you end up apologizing—even when you were the one hurt.
6• Subtle control and criticism
They may disguise insults as “jokes” or “advice.” Slowly, your confidence shrinks while theirs grows.
7• Love feels conditional
Affection is given when you please them—and withdrawn when you don’t. You’re rewarded for compliance, punished for boundaries.
8• You feel drained, not supported
Instead of feeling safe and uplifted, you feel anxious, exhausted, and emotionally confused after interacting with them.
The biggest sign?
You’re constantly trying to prove your worth to someone who benefits from you doubting it.
Awareness is power.
Once you see the pattern, you can choose yourself.
If this resonated, trust that feeling—it’s trying to protect you
