Cosmas Maduka, the CEO of Coscharis Group, announced he will be spending the next few months in Japan so he can work closely with the OEM company he purchased a while back. You need to understand how massive this move is.
An Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) is a company that produces parts or components used in another firm's final product. While the OEM builds the hardware to specific technical standards, the finished item is usually sold under the brand name of the company that buys the parts. Think of them as the expert manufacturers working behind the scenes to ensure every individual piece of a complex machine fits and functions well.
So Coscharis OEM can produce parts for different car companies all over the world like Ford, Mercedes, etc if a contract is in place. From sound system to more technical hardware.
In the automotive world where Coscharis is a big player, this is vital for both production and repairs. When a car brand like Ford or BMW builds a new vehicle, they rely on OEMs to supply specialised parts like Brembo brakes or Bosch electronics. For drivers, choosing OEM parts for repairs means getting a "factory fit" that matches the original quality and safety standards of the vehicle. So if there is a special repair station, you can avoid road side mechanics.
If Coscharis succeeds, we hope the success will trickle down to our economy in Naija and create more jobs for our people.
While I often say it is not life that we are living in Nigeria, I am happy to see people bold enough to take the bull by the "mpi" and try to give us a good life.
I wish Coscharis the best of luck.
