PAIN IS A BLESSING!

Sometime last week, I had some meditation time, and something occured to me.

Every great man on Earth moved out of their comfort zone to pursue what needed to be pursued because, they felt pain and they got tired of continuing in that pain.

To some, the pain of remaining in damaged roofs, garri and palm kernel for breakfast, lunch and dinner, old and hole filled cloths.

To another, the pain of living in fear for the future, the fear of ending as a mediocre, the fear of your children ending up as you.

The fear of being fustrated by evil forces and patterns from your father and mother's side.

Name it..... Pain gotten from many unpleasant situations.

To many, it might be the worst thing that happens to them...

But, view it in this light with me.

One of the things that got me on my toes to take my spiritual life, Personal and professional development serious was some of the pain I shared from my dad..

I would look at his stories, better things should have come out from him, but, he was ignorant then.

I choose to put myself in the pain I would be in the future if I refuse to make hay while the sun shines, and as such, I have no option than to buckle down.

Pain is a blessing not because it is enjoyable, but, because it creates out of you a disciplined and focused man.

You still have time, make the most out of it and if you think you don't have the time anymore, look at how your life turned out, never allow your children and people close to you follow the same route.

The pain in the process is what prepares and establish you.
The pain of cutting down on food and luxury just for development... It is never easy, but, it is what it.

Pain is a blessing, but, never remain in it.

Listen to your pain and do what needs to be done...

Take your spiritual life serious and ancestral patterns won't be yours.
Build wealth and establish it for your posterity and you will never know poverty.
Build strategic relationship, networking and connection and you will never be stranded.
Groom yourself until you become so excellent and competent.
Live to be kind and live to give.

Have you ever been home and it's as if all strength is drained from your body?

There are chores to do, there are works to do and the strength to do them is not forth coming.

What would you do in that situation? I bet you would take some rest, infact, you would take a nap and that's how you renew your strength.

What am I trying to say?

Taking a nap is like our walk with God...

So many times, we don't know how to go about a thing, so many times, we are tired and confused, life would always be overwhelming, and rocky.

But, going to God is like taking a nap, a place where you go to receive strength, a place you go to gain ideas and inspiration, a place where life buds with freshness again.

There are so many things you can't do without God, you strength would always fail.

I wrote a spoken word piece sometime ago and it had this lines...
... "This is an understanding we should keep that even when the land is rocky, we slay on the rock of ages.
When there's no water, we take in the fountain of life.
When e be like say food no dey, we chop bread of life."

This is the assurance you can have in God... Embrace him.

TONE AND EMOTION.

This is one aspect of spoken word that up and coming spoken word artists neglect, they just want to write something they think is appealing to the ear, perform it on stage and off they go.

Just as some effects and lightening gives beauty to stage, videos and graphic designs, so also, tone and emotion adds flavor to your spoken word piece.

The truth is this, every spoken word must have a tone, it's either it is cascaded with gloominess and sadness, happiness, or humourous lines.

Tone is a powerful reflection of our emotions, it can reveal our true feelings.

There are two types of tone;

Tone of the words.
Tone of the voice.

It is true that this two might not be same, but, they work in harmony.

Tone of words makes use of words that interpret its emotions, while, in tone of voice, the voice of the speaker tells the poem in a way that obviously showcases his emotions.

How To Cultivate Tone;
1️⃣ Practice speaking in different layers of tone, this ranges from being high pitched/low pitched, enthusiastic voice/flat voice, etc.

2️⃣ Learn creative writing, employ the use of onomatopoeic words, use words that detect emotions, use metaphor to give effects to your words.

3️⃣ Facial expressions and gestures: your facial expression and gestures must learn to act in accordance to what is coming out from your mouth, when it is a sad piece, act sad, happy, act happy etc, infact most people do tear up or give a teary effect to their voice while performing a said poem.

4️⃣ Put yourself in the shoes of what you are talking about: Use the first person pronoun.

This is something you start from the beginning of writing that poem, this gives you the opportunity to show empathy and find depths of expresiom from your inside.

Spoken word is not just about talking, it is more of feelings.

Utilize your emotions, give life to that poem.

Are you a tail bearer?

I've come to discover that one of the many reasons why people are withdrawn or take some unsuitable decisions are because of what people say about them.

Why will your mouth and voice be the downfall of another, what is the satisfaction in it?

Many people decides not to help others...
Not to keep friends...
People have even committed su***de just because of how someone else used their tongue on them.

A woman brought her fiance for her parents to see, later that day, her best friend texted the fiance telling him that his fiancee has a child.

The man after asking about the child replied her.. 'He is my son'.

If this man wasn't wise, he would've fell for the trick and caused pain to the lady.

You don't have to be a gossiper.
You don't have to judge.

'What you did is not good, regardless, I will help you get back on your feet'.

That should be the tone of our words.

Please, be a source of Joy to another.

There are guidelines to writing a beautiful speech and I'm bringing it your way.

It is no news that one of the problems newbies in the public speaking field encounter is the issue of how to pick or choose a speech topic.

To choose a speech topic, there are range of things one should consider and analyse in order to choose the best of topic(suitable for him/her.

Let's talk about them;

1️⃣ Talk about something you are passionate about: Before you pick a topic for a speech, I want you to look inside of you, take something from your inside, something you have interest on, something that you are truly passionate about, something that reflects the core of your being, I mean, something that reflects your purpose, vision and mission.

The advantages of picking a topic you are interested in, is that you can go on and on talking about that topic without getting tired.

Think about this sentence... "Out of my belly flows rivers of living waters."

We're you able to make out an image of the greatness of the "rivers of living waters," exactly! That's how great it is when you speak from the core of your being.

Have passion for that topic, build expertise on it and talk about it.

2️⃣ Focus your speaking on a single subject: I could call this thoroughly niching down.

It is true that public speaking is a skill, but, what public speaking is not is talking about everything.

You should have areas of specialization, areas that you find ease in, areas that resonate with your passion and expertise.

Your brand should not be known for all things; this is almost not possible, you shouldn't be known for everything.

Your brand should be known for things (specific things) that it does.

3️⃣ Get to know your audience: The truth is this, never get to choose a topic if you don't have an idea of who your audience are.

The theme of the speech, structuring of the speech, diction used and what have you must be applied in consideration of the audience.

You should be able to speak in a way that caters your audience curiosities and interests in your speech and one of the factors to doing this is choosing the right topic for them.

To analyze your target audience; get to know the following...

What are their age range?
What is their career or business?
What setting are they in?
What are their interests?
What do you have in common with them?

Take this home with you, the outline above is not something for newbies, but, for a every public speaker, look for a public speaker that considers the following factors and you would see a public speaker that has an edge over others.

Get working, get productive.

Fear is an enemy to everything.

I didn't say somethings.

EVERYTHING!

I can't do it.
It won't go well.
I will fail.
I already tried before, there's no need. Etc.

This are words birthed from a place of fear.

How do you know it won't work, when you haven't even tried?

Do you become a failure, because you failed? No! You become a failure when you remain a failure.

Read that again!

Those words would come, slithering, deceitfully, but, you have the ability to keep them where they belong.

You don't have to stop because you're afraid, even if you're afraid push your body to keep doing it.

You're beautifully and wonderfully made.

It has not been given to you the spirit of fear, but of power, love and sound mind.

If everyone else can do it, you also can do it.

Say to yourself; I can do it.
