Almost every leader is guilty of this.
When people start a business, a platform, or a project, the first thing they begin to look for is perfect people, competent people, excellent people, people who seem to have everything together.
Even outside business, many of us do the same. Whenever we want to do something, we look for partners or teammates who already look complete, strong, and flawless.
But we forget something important.
The same God who gave you the assignment (job or business) you are doing today knew that you were not perfect. He knew your weaknesses, your flaws, and your limitations, yet He still trusted you with the responsibility.
If God could trust imperfect people, why can’t leaders do the same?
The job of a leader is not simply to select the best people.
The job of a leader is to build people to become the best.
Leadership is the ability to bring together imperfect individuals, understand their weaknesses, develop their strengths, and place them where they can grow and contribute effectively.
A strong system is not built because everyone is perfect.
It is built because the leader knows how to guide imperfect people toward their best.
Dear leaders, do not force perfection on people.
Everyone has strengths. Everyone has weaknesses.
Your responsibility is to study your team, understand each person’s capacity, and help them grow in the areas where they are strong. When people are pushed beyond their natural capacity without guidance, they become discouraged, and many will leave.
Take time to observe, develop people and position people correctly. True leadership is not about gathering followers for your own benefit. True leadership is about building people until they become strong enough to stand on their own.
And the truth is this:
Every human being has the potential to lead in one way or another.
Leadership is not only a position, it is a responsibility to grow yourself and help others grow.
