EYIN LE SO AWON ALFA DI ENI TON JE ARAAMU ATI ELEBO.
One Saturday, a parent ( woman) brought her 4 children to my modrasah and our conversations goes thus:
Parent: sallam aleikum Mudir, I want to register my four children, what are the procedure?
Mudir: Wsallam warahmotullah. Firstly, have they attended any modrasah before?
Parent: yes sir, but the modrasah no longer exist.
Mudir: what happened?
Parent: the Alfa don't usually come to modrasah and we hear that Alfa is now riding Tricycle (Moruwa) as a means of survival.
Mudir: Subhaanallah! May Allah rectify and ease our affairs.
Parent: Amin oo.
Mudir: the form is #1,000 per student.
Parent: haha!! Kilode? Sebi Ile keu ni.
Mudir: yes Ile keu ni, if you have paid the formal Alfa your dues, may be the Alfa will still be at modrasah by now teaching the word of Allah to your children but reverse is the case. Your children are still going to pay modrasah fee which is #4,000 per child and the payment is terminal.
Parent: Mudir pls let me pay #1,000 as form fee for the four children and reduce the school fee for me, they are your children and they are still very young.
Mudir: But what's our offence? Why do you want to turn Alfas to beggers or ELEBO? I went to University to study Arabic and this is my job and contributions to the growth of Islam. I know the school your children are attending; each of them pays nothing less than #40,000 per term. It's so cruel of you because you value western education than Islamic/Arabic education. Moreso, there is no school that will grant you the avenue of bargain the price of school fees.
Parent: hmmm!
Mudir: Modrasah fees are neither up to their school uniforms nor their transportation fees in just 2 weeks.
Parent: sigh!
Mudir: when you block the road that leads to Halal, definitely they might deviate to other part which is Haram as a means of survival. Eyin Le so awon Alfa di ELEBO ati eni ton je ARAAMU.
Parent: subhaanallah!
Mudir: yes, you turned your formal Alfa
