The Osun Progressive People’s Forum (OPPF), a formidable political group within the progressive family and a strong pillar in support of the governorship ambition of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), under the leadership of Hon., Abiona Wasiu Abidemi extends warmest felicitations to Nigerians on this momentous occasion of Nigeria's 65th Independence Anniversary. We celebrate Nigeria's sovereignty and the strides made since October 1, 1960. Nigeria gained independence on this day, marking a crucial milestone in its history, symbolizing liberation from British colonial rule and inspiring national pride and aspirations for progress.
The OPPF acknowledges Nigeria's rich cultural diversity and the resilience of its people. Our nation, with over 250 ethnic groups, stands as a testament to unity in diversity, a pride for Africans and the global community. Osun State, with its rich cultural heritage and academic institutions like *Obafemi Awolowo University*, contributes significantly to Nigeria's intellectual.
We salute Nigeria's founding fathers like Nnamdi Azikiwe, Obafemi Awolowo, and Herbert Macaulay, whose vision and struggles led to our independence, shaping Nigeria's path. Their leadership underscores the power of collective aspiration for self-determination.
The Osun Progressive People's Forum urges Nigerians to aspire for greater heights in unity, peace, and development. We believe in harnessing Nigeria's vast human and natural resources for the welfare of all citizens.
OPPF emphasizes empowering Nigeria's youthful population through quality education, skills acquisition, and opportunities for innovation and leadership, driving Nigeria's future progress. Youth empowerment is key to Nigeria's sustainable growth and development.
We advocate for accountable leadership, transparency, and good governance as pillars for Nigeria's sustainable development and prosperity, addressing challenges like insecurity and economic growth. The OPPF stresses unity as key to overcoming Nigeria's challenges.
