Nigeria Government Intensifies Release of 11 Soldiers in Burkina Faso

Three days on, talks are still ongoing between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the government of Burkina Faso for the release of the 11 soldiers and military C-130 jet held in the Sahel nation.

Various sources from the Nigerian military confirmed on Wednesday that the soldiers and aircraft are still held in Burkina Faso, despite rumors that the Portuguese government had stepped in since the plane was going for maintenance in Portugal.

The matter is being handled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and release is expected soon, according to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa.

He said the Nigerian Embassy in Ouagadougou had initiated talks with the Burkina Faso government to secure the release.

Lamurde Killing: Investigation Launched — House of Rep

A deep investigation into the killing of eight unarmed protesters in Lamurde LGA in Adamawa State, including a 13-year-old girl, has been ordered by the House of Representatives.

Nigerian military personnel allegedly shot at the women during a demonstration that the community described as peaceful, killing 8 people and leaving over 30 others struggling for their lives at Numan and Yola Specialist Hospitals.

On Wednesday, House Rep Kwamoti Laori from Adamawa moved a motion regarding the state of the people in Lamurde, as the crisis has claimed lives, destroyed property, and deepened community tensions at a time when Nigeria continues to confront a wave of insecurity driven by armed groups, kidnappers, and terrorists.

Adopting the motion for a resolution, lawmakers issued a stern directive to the Chief of Defence Staff, urging all troops deployed in Lamurde and other parts of Adamawa to exercise maximum restraint, uphold professionalism, and strictly follow the rules of engagement as tensions rise in the affected communities.

Thereafter, the House Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, directed the Committees on Human Rights, Defence, and Internal Security to embark on a fact-finding mission to Lamurde.

Join the winning team mate Great Emmanuel on the real life issue segment of the Sunday talk show.

Today's story: Good evening, ma. I’ve been in a relationship for one year, and my lady just posted this: “Make I no lie, I no really suffer much this year; na man money I just de chop this year (smile) my sweet man.” I know I’ve not given her more than 20k this year, so which money is she referring to? Which man? I chatted her up, but she didn’t respond since morning, and she didn’t delete the post either. I just want to know my fate with her. Could she be playing games with me?
