A new scam is running in Awka and it's so sophisticated that even experienced diasporians and investors are falling for it.

Here's how it works:

STEP 1: They show you a genuine C of O for a large piece of land (let's say 10 hectares)
STEP 2: They create a fake "subdivision survey" breaking it into plots
STEP 3: They sell you "Plot 47" with documents that LOOK official
STEP 4: When you come to develop, you discover that "Plot 47" doesn't exist in the ORIGINAL survey plan. The land is real. The C of O is real. But YOUR SPECIFIC PLOT is fictional.

Last month, I was called to verify a property in Isiagu (outskirts of Awka). The buyer - a Germany-based engineer - had paid $35,000 for "2 plots in a developing estate."

I checked the survey plan against the original C of O. The ESTATE is real. But according to them, they've sold 84 plots while the estate can ONLY accommodate 52 plots (based on Anambra State planning regulations for setbacks, access roads, and drainage for the estate).

This means 32 people will LOSE their plots completely when the real development starts or when the government comes for compliance inspection.

Here's how to PROTECT yourself:

1. Demand the ORIGINAL survey plan - not the estate subdivision plan. Take it to a licensed surveyor to verify if the subdivision is mathematically and legally possible.

2. Check the C of O holder's name - If the estate developer's company name is NOT on the C of O, they're likely RESELLING what they don't fully own.

3. Visit Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) - They must approve ANY subdivision. If your estate is not in their approval records, it's ILLEGAL.

4. Insist on site coordinates with GPS verification - Anyone can draw a beautiful estate map. But can they mark YOUR specific plot on the ground with coordinates? If they say "we'll do that after full payment," you're likely being scammed. Ask them to map out your specific plots.

I told the Germany engineer: "You've lost your $35,000. You can fight in court for years or cut your losses now."

He almost cried on the phone. A whole engineer. Crying. Because he TRUSTED without VERIFYING.

This is not a joke. These scammers are getting SMARTER. They know diasporians have money but limited time to do deep due diligence.

They're counting on your IGNORANCE and LAZINESS. Don't prove them right.

FACEBOOK IMAGES NOW USED BY THE US IMMIGRATION

The internet never forgets. And now, the border may not either.

Recent reports confirm that United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has integrated Clearview AI facial recognition into parts of its intelligence and targeting operations.

The software compares a person’s face against a massive database built from more than 60 billion publicly available images, many pulled from social media posts across the internet.

So what does this really mean?

First, this does not mean the government suddenly owns your social media account. The images used are described as “publicly available,” which means photos already posted online can be analyzed by the system. Agents can upload a photo and receive possible matches drawn from that vast image pool. In practical terms, your online presence becomes another data point used in security vetting, identity checks, or intelligence analysis at the border. 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️

Second, this expands how border security thinks about identity. Instead of relying only on passports or biometrics collected at airports, investigators may look at open-source digital traces.

For Nigerians and other international travelers, this could mean that online behavior, public photos, or associations may indirectly shape risk profiles during visa reviews or travel screening. The technology is framed by agencies as a way to identify people faster, map networks, and detect fraud or threats before they cross borders. 😍😍😍😍

Third, there are serious privacy debates around it. Clearview AI has faced lawsuits, fines, and regulatory pushback in multiple countries over how it collected facial images without explicit consent. Critics argue that large facial databases could enable constant surveillance, misidentification, or bias against certain communities. Supporters say it helps law enforcement find suspects or missing persons.

Many years ago,I Left Christianity for Omenala—What I Was Asked to Pay Shocked Me Back to My Christian Faith

Awuzie Frankline- Confeses✍️

There was a time in my life when things were really hard. I was broke, confused, and tired of praying without seeing any result. It honestly felt like Jesus wasn’t even hearing me anymore.

Out of frustration, I started thinking… maybe I should try something else. That was how I decided to try Omenala. The very first day I went to see a native doctor, he told me my forefathers had not been “fed” for years. Then he gave me a list of things to bring—goat and other items that would cost almost ₦200,000. I was shocked.

Here I was, struggling to even eat the next day, and someone was telling me to go and find that kind of money just to perform rituals. That was when reality hit me. How can I be asked to feed the dead when I, the living, have not eaten?

I quietly left there and started thinking deeply. Then I remembered something—when you go to church, nobody stops you from praying because you don’t have money. You can worship, cry, and talk to God freely. Even when offerings are mentioned, it’s not by force. You give only if you can, and from your heart.

That experience opened my eyes. Some people complain that pastors are collecting money, but they don’t talk about how much they spend on traditional practices. The difference is, in church, you are not forced. But in that place, everything had a price—especially your desperation. That moment made me realize that what I was looking for wasn’t there. It brought me back to my faith with a better understanding. And Jesus solved my problems

In 1958, under Mao Zedong, China launched a nationwide campaign to eliminate rats, flies, mosquitoes and sparrows which were considered dangerous.
‎
‎The government believed sparrows were eating too much grain and reducing food production. So millions of people were mobilized to destroy nests, break eggs, kill chicks and bang pots and pans to keep sparrows flying until they died from exhaustion. ‎It is estimated that millions of sparrows were killed.

‎While the campaign against mosquitoes, flies and rats were successful and in 2021 the World Health Organization officially certified China as malaria-free, the campaign against sparrows was a disaster.

‎Sparrows didn’t just eat grains, they also ate insects like locusts. After sparrows were wiped out in many areas, locust populations exploded and crops were devastated.

‎This worsened the already severe famine during the Great Leap Forward
‎The famine (1959–1961) led to millions of human deaths and cannibalism.
‎Eventually, the government stopped targeting sparrows and even imported sparrows from the Soviet Union to restore balance.

Live and let live. Help me to say it in your language.

HE FOUGHT FOR HIS WIFE. HE GOT 7 YEARS IMPRÏSOÑMÊNT. SHE GOT PREGNANT FOR ANOTHER MAN.

Let me tell you a true life story.

One evening, a male neighbour was arguing with someone’s wife in the compound.

The argument turned into quarrel.
Neighbour and wife exchanging words.
It was noisy. Insults flying.

Voices went high. Words became hot.

Suddenly, the neighbour slapped the woman.

The husband rushed out.

Before anybody could say “calm down,” punches started flying like it was WWE.

He pushed the neighbour.
The neighbour lost balance, fell backwards, and his head hit the concrete.

What started as “why did you slap my wife?”
Turned into ambulance, police siren, and handcuffs.

The injured neighbour survived, but with serious head injury.

The husband was charged for Assault occasioning Grievous bodily harm and Attempted murder.

The husband kept saying, “I was defending my wife!”

But the court said, “Self-defence has limits.”

Court matter started. Bail was denied.
After 1 year and 6 months, the man was convicted,
Seven years imprisonment.

Now this is the part that shocked everybody.

The same wife he fought for?
She packed her things.
Left the house. Moved on.

She is now pregnant for another man.

The man who said, “I can’t watch anybody touch my wife,” is watching life pass through prison bars.

Lesson to be learnt:

Anger gives you five seconds of satisfaction
and seven years of regret.

If someone touches your wife,
use the law, not your fists.

Prison is not romantic.
Heroism does not reduce sentence.

I rest my case.

If you are a Nigerian and you love your life, please read this post and share it to save many....

One thing that worries me is that many Nigerians do not understand that a LABORATORY REPORT is not the same thing as a MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS.

A lab result is a measurement taken from a specimen.

A diagnosis is a clinical conclusion that comes from combining symptoms, timeline, examination findings, risk factors, and targeted tests.

When people skip the clinical part and treat lab print-outs as final truth, they often treat the wrong illness, take the wrong drugs, and repeat the cycle until resistance and chronic health problems show up.

This is one major reason original antibiotics are failing in Nigeria, that's if you see and buy...

In a proper clinical workflow, the clinician starts with examining you. Only after that do they decide which tests are relevant and how to interpret them.

But what is happening instead?

Many people walk into a lab with fever and say, “Do malaria and typhoid.”

The lab does what is requested.

The paper comes out.

The patient goes straight to buy artemether/lumefantrine and then adds ciprofloxacin “to cover typhoid,” sometimes with metronidazole “to clear the stomach.” No clinician has confirmed what is actually going on.

Now, let us address the two biggest drivers of confusion👇🏽

Malaria testing and the Widal test.

Nigeria is malaria-endemic.

That single fact changes how you interpret malaria tests.

In endemic areas, you can have malaria parasites present without malaria being the cause of your current fever.

You can also have symptoms that look like malaria but are actually something else entirely.

And you can have a test that is misleading depending on the method used and the timing of illness.

Rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) commonly detect parasite antigens such as HRP2 (for Plasmodium falciparum) or pLDH.

HRP2-based tests can remain positive for days to weeks after successful treatment because the antigen can persist even when parasites are cleared.

That means someone can treat malaria correctly, feel better, fall sick later from another infection, do an RDT, still test “positive,” and then take artemether/lumefantrine again unnecessarily.

If this repeats, you are exposing yourself to repeated ACT courses without clear indication, and you are also increasing selection pressure on malaria parasites at a population level.

Microscopy (thick and thin film) is more informative because it can estimate parasite density and show species, but it depends heavily on technique and experience.

Poor smear preparation, poor staining, rushed reading, and low-quality microscopes can produce false negatives and false positives.

In addition, very low parasitemia might be incidental, present but not driving the current illness.

Now the Widal test.

This is where Nigeria’s reality makes interpretation messy.

Widal is an agglutination test that detects antibodies (usually against Salmonella “O” and “H” antigens).

Antibodies can be present from previous exposure, subclinical infection, cross-reactivity with other infections, or non-specific immune activation.

In an environment where many people have repeated exposures to enteric organisms, baseline antibody levels can be elevated in healthy people.

So a single Widal result done once, without a baseline titer and without a paired sample taken 7–14 days later to demonstrate a rising titer, can be misleading.

This is why people can be told “typhoid positive” when they do not have typhoid fever in the strict clinical sense.

So what happens next? .

People start antibiotics, often broad-spectrum, and that is where the damage starts.

Here is the key point many people miss...

A “positive” Widal does not equal active typhoid fever.

A “positive” malaria test does not always mean malaria is the main cause of the illness.

Yet Nigerians are frequently treated for both at the same time, repeatedly, year after year.

If you are “treating malaria and typhoid” more than three times in a year, you should stop and reassess your process.

You are damaging your DNA...

It may be true repeated malaria infections can occur in high-exposure settings, but more than three episodes in a year should raise questions about other factors, and diagnostic accuracy.

For “typhoid,” repeated treatment multiple times in a year, especially when based on Widal alone, strongly suggests misdiagnosis or wrong attribution.

Ask yourself, why is the fever returning?

Is it really malaria again?

Is it really typhoid again?

Or

Is the real cause never being identified?

Because fever is not owned by malaria and typhoid.

Fever is a general inflammatory response.

THE PUBLIC SERVANTS RESCUE FROM SALARY DEVALUATION BILL : a Bill to Introduce a Bi-Monthly Salary Structure for Nigerian Public Servants

Objective
This bill seeks to rescue Nigerian public servants from the devaluation of their salary through petty loans, and high cost of purchasing consumables on credit by introducing a bi-monthly salary structure- thereby improving their mental health, and financial well-being

Research shows that about 60% of civil servants are owing one loan app or the other, which affects their mental health and the value of their salary. These public servants as they stand, receive their salary at the end of the month, which hardly solves basic needs, like feeding and other consumables. When the salary finally comes, it is spent on offsetting loans, and paying for consumables bought on credit, usually at a higher price.

This bill if passed would restore the street dignity of public servants, and ease the burden on their mental stress.

Proposed Payment Structure
(1) Public servants shall receive 2/5 (40%) of their salary on the 15th of every month, with the remaining balance paid on the last day of the month.

(2) The Receiver shall bear the transaction fee for the mid-month payment, incentivizing efficient payment processing - 50 Naira or less.

Opt-in Provision
This bi-monthly salary structure shall be optional for workers, allowing them to choose whether to participate.

Benefits
This structure is expected to:
(1) Enhance financial stability by reducing reliance on high-interest loans.
(2) Enable bulk purchasing of essential items at discounted rates.
(3). Improved mental health.

WHEN, NIGERIA?

In China, you can actually get a PhD for creating innovative products or technologies instead of writing a traditional thesis. This "practical PhD" program is designed to encourage engineers and innovators to develop real-world solutions. Students work on projects like developing new materials, technologies, or products, and if their work is deemed impactful and scalable, they can earn their PhD š.

For instance, Zheng Hehui, a civil engineering PhD student, created a set of Lego-like blocks for building bridge pylons and was awarded his degree. This approach is part of China's effort to boost innovation and produce "elite engineers" who can drive technological progress.

‎Ade-Peters Olanrewaju Oba is the immediate past President of the Nigerian community in Guangzhou, China.
‎Chat GPT estimates the population of Igbo there to be about 6O-70%, Yoruba 10-20%, Edo (Bini) 10-20%, Hausa and others at 5-10%.

‎The largest group there by far are the Igbo, yet they unanimously voted for Ade-Peters Olanrewaju Oba as their president for four solid years as they found him to have capacity.

‎This good gesture is not limited to Igbo, Yoruba do it, Efik do it, Tiv do it. We all do it. Our challenge is we don't travel or investigate enough before concluding that only our own people are benevolent.
