Daniel noticed the difference.

Daniel refused to give up on Ada.
He told his mother, “You are judging her because of her past without knowing what happened.”
Eventually, Amaka agreed to meet Ada.
Ada came with her little son and greeted Amaka respectfully.
Amaka barely responded.
She looked at the boy and then at Ada.
“So you expect my son to marry you and raise another man's child?”
Ada was hurt.
“I never expected Daniel to take responsibility for something he didn't create. I only want someone who will love me and respect my son.”
Amaka remained cold.
Ada left quietly.
Daniel became angry with his mother.
“Mummy, you just rejected a good woman because she is a single mother.”
Amaka replied, “I'm protecting you.”
Daniel answered, “Sometimes protection can become injustice.”

Episode 2 — The Double Standard

That same evening, Amaka's daughter, Chidinma, called her mother with exciting news.
“Mummy, I have met someone. His name is Emeka, and he wants to marry me.”
Amaka became excited.
“Ah! Finally! Tell me about him.”
Chidinma hesitated before saying, “Mummy, he's a single father. He has a daughter.”
There was silence.
Then Amaka smiled.
“That's not a problem. If you love him, I will support you.”
Daniel, who was nearby, heard everything.
“Mummy, wait. When I wanted to marry a single mother, you said it was unacceptable. But now Chidinma wants to marry a single father and suddenly everything is okay?”
Amaka became defensive.
“It's different.”
Daniel shook his head.

Amaka was a proud mother of two children, Daniel and Chidinma. She had always dreamed of seeing her children marry people she considered “good enough.”
One evening, Daniel told his mother that he had found the woman he wanted to marry.
“Mummy, her name is Ada. I love her, and I want to marry her.”
Amaka was happy until Daniel added, “She has a son. She's a single mother.”
Amaka's face changed immediately.
“Single mother? My son, you cannot marry her. You deserve a woman without another man's child.”
Daniel was disappointed.
