PIECE OF ADVICE TO ALL THE MEN THINKING ABOUT GETTING MARRIED
As a man, before you ever contemplate or entertain the thoughts of getting married, make sure you can feed yourself and ATLEAST 2 extra people. This is on a minimum requirement basis o. If you are struggling to feed yourself, please don’t bother about marriage, you mustn’t really get married, at least not now. Not everybody will even get married. As per today’s reality, it will hurt you more in many different ways i cannot mention (in keeping to the scope of this article) if you are struggling and decide to start a family.
When you finally decide to marry, please no matter how much you are in love with a particular ‘her’, no matter the level of emergency, do not marry a lady who cannot buy airtime for herself without calling you. A lady who cannot pay her transport money to come visit you, a lady who cannot do basics with her own money.
It’s not about the money she has or don’t have, it’s about the fact that she has SOMETHING, its about the fact that she is not a TOTAL liability. A sad reality may hit you one day. You may even die, what will be the fate of your kids? A sad reality will hit you one day and you’ll be blamed for not doing your Provider role. Nobody will remember how you’ve been feeding your family, paying school fees and all that since you got married. Nobody will remember that your wife could have easily filled the gap if she had some personal savings or had something doing and the family will move on. As long as the news comes to this space for judging, you’ll be judged harshly no matter your efforts because, people no longer want to hear that you made the mistake of suggesting splitting of bills in the family. Carry your responsibility boldly like a cross but if you marry a reasonable and resourceful person, when you hit an emergency, nobody will get the opportunity to judge you harshly because your wife came through.
So while your target should not necessarily be to get her into family financing, having a resourceful person is a security plan for eventualities. Someone that when you travel, she cant pay light bill without calling you is a problem. Note she is not responsible for light bills, shes just paying a certain tike you were indisposed without even bothering to ask you to refund her when you come back. Infact, if she paid but asked you to refund her when you come back, that mindset of hers is a redflag. Please take notice of it by all means. You have been paying light bills from January till June and you travelled in July, she didn't call you, she paid and sent you the telex for refund — This mindset is a redflag.
You will die early in that marriage. Look carefully, you probably married a social media wife.
More importantly, if you are a poor man, please marry a rich woman, it is not optional.
If you are an average man, pls marry a rich woman if you can
If you are a wealthy man, please marry a rich woman.
Someone may want to ask me, if men only marry rich women, who will marry the poor.
Sweetheart, who is marrying the poor men? Are they not the people i just told they mustnt get married? Please the poor women mustnt get married. They went to school like men, got degrees, had access to the same labour market, is there any reason they are depending on marriage for upliftment ? What happened to self development ? If you are poor and banking on marrying a rich man to escape poverty, you may be signing up for a rude awakening.
