ADEPT!

So, many of you do not know this: not too long before I ventured into media practice, I acquired a skill in academic writing. Yes, I did.

I can imagine how dropped your mandibles are.

Well, that's it. Before then, I used to write poems, especially in Igbo language and that was for fun.

At some point, however, I decided that writing had to earn me some monetary reward and "boom!", I got an opportunity to learn a skill in academic writing.

Here's what happened:

I used to know this lady who was two years ahead of me during our undergrad years and I must say she was, and still is, brilliant and a very focused and dedicated individual.

Judith had eyes for good books and gifted me my first Dictionary in Deutsche. That was sometime around 2017, and to you, Judith, I say "Danke!"

It was 2020 and I was in Potiskum, Yobe State, buried in boredom, despite the availability of steady power supply and Internet access. Daily, I wrote poems for nearly 365 days but needed some money in my pockets, at least.

Well, as a COVID KOFA, there was barely any job around, except the Internet and that was when I came across the Online Academic Course being organised by ADEPT WRITING & RESEARCH CONSULT, and guess whose photo I saw on the flier, Judith's!

I hopped-in on the two-week course with the very last Kobo in my bank account. I'm certain Judith was awe-struck when I sent the proof of payment.

The good thing is, we were few in that very class, though there were other members who had advanced to other levels and were in separate classes.

Judith emptied her all in us, painstakingly, I must say, and this is because some of us were a handful.

From learners with zero background in professional academic writing, we got gigs from her and she thoroughly supervised the jobs to ensure the best results.

We were later to get other gigs from her, unsupervised and, of course, we were linked with international organisations where we could get academic writing gigs and the reviews attracted more referrals.

What's the essence of this epistle?

It's 2025, asides your 9-5, go grab yourself a skill or two if you desire financial freedom.
