Hello everyone. ❤️
I’ve been seeing the conversation about “Stop using sanitary pads” because of the concerns being raised about certain chemicals allegedly found in some sanitary pads.
But I have one question: what about our girls? 👧🏾
What about the 11-, 12-, and 13-year-old girls who have just started their periods and are still learning about their bodies?
I’ve also seen people suggesting that these young girls should simply switch to tampons, menstrual cups, and other alternatives. But honestly, let’s slow down and consider the age, comfort, maturity, education, and individual needs of these girls. A young girl who has just started menstruating should not be pressured into using any menstrual product simply because it is trending.
For many girls, sanitary pads are the most familiar and accessible option. Instead of frightening mothers and girls, let’s demand safe, properly tested, affordable menstrual products and give parents and girls accurate information so they can make informed choices.
Our girls deserve to experience their first period with confidence, dignity, comfort, and proper guidance not fear. ❤️
Let’s talk about this responsibly. Our girls are listening.
