Surround Yourself with Positive People – Stay around those who encourage and support you.
Take Breaks – Relax and do things you enjoy, like reading, drawing, or listening to music.

Illustration 1: The Mind as a Cup of Water
Imagine your mind is like a cup of water. When the water is clean, you can see clearly through it, just like a healthy mind helps you think clearly, learn, and make good decisions.
But what happens if you keep adding dirt (negative thoughts, stress, anger, sadness) into the water? It becomes dirty, and you can’t see through it anymore. This is what happens when we don’t take care of our mental health—it becomes harder to focus, feel happy, or solve problems.
To keep the water clean, we must remove the dirt and add fresh water. This means talking about our feelings, staying positive, and taking care of our minds.
Example 2: A Student Struggling with Mental Health
Let’s take the story of Ada, a Junior Secondary student. Ada used to perform well in class, but suddenly, she started feeling sad and stopped talking to her friends. She worried a lot about failing and felt like she wasn’t good enough. Because of this, her grades dropped, and she lost interest in school.
One day, her teacher noticed and asked what was wrong. Ada opened up about how she was feeling. With the teacher’s support, she started thinking more positively, talking to her friends again, and doing things she loved, like drawing. Slowly, her mood improved, and her grades got better.
Lesson: If you are feeling overwhelmed, talk to someone. Just like Ada, asking for help can make things better!
Conclusion
Mental health is just as important as physical health. When we take care of our minds, we live happier, healthier, and more successful lives. Always remember, if you ever feel overwhelmed, don't keep it to yourself—talk to someone who can help.
